Quadball Victoria

Quadball Victoria was founded in 2011 and operates as the governing body for quadball in VIC. During the year, the VQA hosts three major events.

The Victorian Quidditch Association was founded in 2011 and operates as the governing body for quidditch in Victoria. The VQA’s roots begin with Victoria’s oldest team, the Melbourne Manticores, who founded the association. In 2013, competitive play commenced between four teams; the Wrackspurts Quidditch Club, Monash Muggles, Blackburn Basilisks and Manticores. Since its humble beginnings, quiddit

ch has grown to be a social but highly competitive sport amongst players from various sporting and non-sporting backgrounds and Victoria now currently home to seven university and community-based teams. Our calendar begins with the Victorian Fantasy Tournament (VFT) in February, in which individuals register and are drafted into teams by general managers for the tournament weekend. Our league, The Victoria Cup, runs from March to August with finals being played in September. In addition to league play, Melbourne Mudbash has become Australia’s premier winter with interstate teams and individuals traveling from NSW, Perth and QLD in 2016 to attend. The VQA is proud to be represented by our state team, the Victorian Leadbeaters. Members of the VQA have also gone on to represent Australia as members of the Australian Dropbears Quidditch Team at the 2012, 2014 and 2016 International Quidditch Association’s World Cups, placing 3rd, 2nd, and 1st respectively. 🏐 The Victorian Quadball Social League kicks off March 15!

The Victorian Quadball Social League is launching this month, and we’re excited to welcome players back onto the pitch for a fun, flexible season of quadball at Fawkner Park.

This new league replaces the traditional Victoria Cup and is designed to maximise game time, connection, and fun for everyone involved. Whether you’re a returning club player or brand new to the sport, this is the perfect chance to jump in and be part of Victoria’s growing quadball community.

📍 Location: Fawkner Park
⏰ Time: 10:00am – around 1:00pm

Each monthly match day will include a mix of:
🏐 Club matches
🤝 Mixed team games
🎉 Friendly/social match-ups

Game formats will adapt based on who attends, making sure everyone gets plenty of meaningful time on the pitch.

💰 Season Fees
• Club players / returning members: $50 for the season
• New players: Your first day is FREE, and if you decide to continue, you’ll receive 30% off the season fee.

New players: Your first day is FREE, and if you decide to continue, you’ll receive 30% off the season fee.

📅Season Dates
The league will run from March through August, with the potential for a September date pending the scheduling of the Australian Quadball Club Championships. The day will run from 10am till around 1pm.

Victorian Leadbeaters – 2025 State Shield Update

We’re proud to announce that Michelle Duke and Brad Horsfall will co-captain the Victorian Leadbeaters at the 2025 Quadball Australia State Shield. Their leadership, experience, and drive will set the tone for the team this year.

We’re also excited to welcome Nathan Morton to the coaching team. Nathan brings valuable expertise and fresh perspective that will support the Leadbeaters both on and off the field.

With strong leadership and coaching in place, 2025 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for the Leadbeaters!
