The Tamaraw Cycling Club (TCC) is a group of road cycling enthusiasts (racers, commuters, and recreational riders) which holds regular rides on Melbourne's popular cycling routes. We aim to cater for all riders, from those who would like to find a few people to ride with on weekends along the local bike paths and finish with a coffee, to those who would like to compete for the Club in racing. We h
old regular weekend rides and anyone is welcome to join. For information on rides not listed here on Facebook, please message us or email [email protected]
TCC was initially a group of friends who got together riding on a casual basis since 2013. The rides became more regular which turned to a weekly event. It is now an officially registered incorporated organisation with a formal structure and a schedule of events. Formed mainly by Philippine-born individuals, the TCC embraces all cultural backgrounds from all different areas of Melbourne. It is a diverse and inclusive group which has a wide mix of people including those that are of Italian, Franco Anglo-Celtic and Burmese Anglo-Saxon backgrounds. Our members also reside in different parts of Melbourne - West, North, East and South-East. The tamaraw (Bubalus mindorensis) is a small, stocky buffalo native to the island of Mindoro, Philippines. The tamaraw's small size and great strength enables it to push through dense jungle and climb steep mountains. The tamaraw is one of the world's rarest mammals. Natives of Mindoro feared the tamaraw because of its aggressiveness. TCC is an independent club and is a registered incorporated association.
