Our weekly social tennis nights have been a great success, with spots full each week and a fantastic mix of players.

After the tennis, everyone stays for a shared meal, which has become a highlight of the evening and a great way to catch up and meet other members.

Thanks to everyone who has been coming along and helping make these nights such a great part of the Currawong community!

Currawong Reunion – Celebrating Our Early Players

Recently Currawong life member Barb Ellis organised a special reunion, bringing together past players from the club’s early years in the 1980s. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with fun, laughter and plenty of old photos as everyone reminisced about their time playing at Currawong. Unfortunately Barb was unable to attend on the day and was greatly missed. However, the group have already suggested another catch-up in the future!

A particularly special moment was having Joan, our oldest past player, attend at 93 years young.

It was a fabulous afternoon and a lovely reminder of the friendships, history and community spirit that have been part of Currawong for decades.

🎾 Currawong Players at the Victorian League Championships

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it feels especially fitting to celebrate some of the wonderful women in our Currawong community.

These Currawong players recently competed in the Victorian League Championships after winning their respective grand finals during the year. They represented our club at the championship events held at Doncaster and Royal South Yarra Tennis Club, which is a fantastic achievement.

We’re very proud to see Currawong represented at this level. Well done to everyone involved!

🌸 Mother’s Day Giveaway

With Mother’s Day coming up, we wanted to do a small giveaway as a way of saying thank you to the wonderful mums and families who are part of our Currawong community.

We’re giving away a $50 Tennis Only voucher to one lucky Currawong member.

Members can check their email for the entry form.

Entries close 11:59pm Saturday, and the winner will be drawn on Mother’s Day.

What a fantastic afternoon at our Currawong Open Day! 🎾

Thank you to everyone who came down to enjoy social tennis, the BBQ, kids’ activities and great company. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to welcome some new ones to the club.

A big thank you as well to our WCTA coaches, Simon and Gary, Tennis Only Australia, and our committee members who helped make the day happen 🥰

We’re excited to let you know that Social Tennis is moving to Friday nights!

When: Fridays, 7:00-9:00 PM
Cost:
• Members: $5 per session
• Non-members: $10 per session

To make Friday nights a bit more social, we’re also encouraging anyone who’d like to bring along some food or non-alcoholic drinks to share at the end of the session. This is completely optional, but it’s a great way to wind down, chat, and get to know other members after play.
