Altona Swimming Club

Altona Swimming Club A family oriented junior swimming club formed in 1968. Based at BayFit Leisure Centre, Altona North.

The Altona Swimming Club is located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne Australia. Originally established as the Newport Amateur Swimming Club in 1968 the club was relocated to Altona North in 1985. The club currently operates out of the 25m indoor pool at the Bayfit Leisure centre in Altona North and is affiliated with the following bodies:

Swimming Victoria (State)
Metro West (District)

The Cl

ub offers a family orientated environment where parents as well as children are able to participate, where the emphasis is on a balanced approach to both personal improvement and competitiveness The club has 80 active members from the ages of 6 to 55 years. Members participate in the weekly Club nights, Club representative squads at District and State level, and State and National Events. Over the years the club has had representatives in several Para Olympic competitions.

Altona Swimming Club had a huge weekend both in and out of the pool.
We had 5 swimmers compete at the Melton Club encouragement meet, and they brought home the medals. The following swimmers should be congratulated for their fantastic results:
Max- 3 gold
Edie - 2 silver and a bronze
Sam- 2 gold and 1 silver
Jackson - 2 gold and 1 silver.

Well done, your club mates are so proud of your efforts.

And to cap off the busy weekend, the Altona Swimming Club had a visit from our local member Melissa Horne, who dropped in to find out about what the Altona Swimming Club does for our local community.
