A proud moment for the Indian community 🇮🇳

Our very own Jai Saxena has been drafted by the Collingwood Football Club at today's AFL rookie draft.

The talented small forward is just the second player with full Indian heritage to be drafted and could become the first to play an AFL game.

A huge congratulations to Jai's parents, Gaurav and Bindi Saxena.

Warriors Classy Gesture

What an incredible journey it has been for BFC Indian Warriors in the Unity Cup! We went into the tournament determined to complete our treble and we were thrilled to emerge as champions of the Unity Cup for a third time.

But this victory isn't just about us; it's about a young team that showed us the true meaning of passion and determination. We were immensely impressed by the commitment shown by a young team that faced some tough challenges, but they did it all with a smile on their faces and played every game with great attitude and energy. This passion, determination, commitment, attitude and energy was a lesson for our players and is what ultimately drove us for the remainder of the tournament.

This amazing young team got very close on many occassions throughout the round robin stage, but they showed us what true sportsmanship and determination looks like. In our first match of the day against them, they pushed us right to the end, making it an unforgettable contest.

Today, we want to salute these young men for their spirit and dedication. We believe in nurturing talent and passing on the legacy of sportsmanship, and we couldn't be prouder to hand over the Unity Cup trophy to them.

Congratulations to the Glen Waverly Magpies 18+ boys’ team! Your commitment and passion has inspired us all at the BFC, and we can't wait to see you shine even brighter in the future.

The Glen Waverly Magpies were well represented at the Unity Cup with teams in all age groups with both male and female teams. Capping off an impressive day for Glen Waverly was their 13 – 18 girls’ team that were crowned premiers in their division.

At the time of presenting the trophy to the 18+ boys team unfortunately most of the squad had left. The trophy will be presented to the full squad during the week.

Warriors Masterclass

The BFC have continued their unbeaten Unity Cup run with a third premiership from three tournaments.

The Warriors were challenged from the start with a close win over the young GWS team. Jai Saxena was instrumental in his debut for the club playing both as a forward and midfielder.

The Warriors went through to the finals unbeaten with wins over the Bombers and Melbounre to round out round-robin stage. Saravpreet Garcha kicked a couple of classy goals a crucial times to help steady the team.

Club stalwarts, Karan Singh, Harka Calais and Navi Singh were outstanding all day providing great run and leadership. Sahil Grewal gave on ballers first use out of the middle proving why he is so important to the team. 9's specialist Akash Malhotra was a welcome return to the team with his coolness under pressure and elite foot skills on show. Akash Singh was the most dangerous forward and was a real headache for opposition defenders.

In a close grand final, veteran forward Yasser Hussain stood tall at the right time with one of the marks of the day. Captain Arhum Moin lead his team to a two point victory in the Grand Final.

📢 UNITY CUP SQUAD ANNOUNMENT

The Bharat Warriors will return to AFL Unity Cup tomorrow after their 2018 & 19 triumphs at the tournament. Arhum Moin has been named captain and will lead the 14-man squad at tomorrow's tournament.

Arhum who was voted in by his peers has developed into a reliable Defender during his time with the BFC. Much loved by his team mates, Arhum is excited to lead the team for this first time.

BFC President Yasser Hussain is extremely proud of the fact that the team will be represented by an all-Indian squad even after a long stint off the field. He is also pleased to see six players return to the squad who were apart of the 2018 & 19 Unity Cup winning teams which speaks volumes to what the club provides for players.

THE BOYS ARE BACK!

After almost 18 months in the football wilderness, the Bharat Football Club will return to the field next month at the AFL Unity Cup.

The club is filled with pride as it prepares to enter the tournament with an exclusively Indian 15-man squad. This team will showcase a blend of seasoned players and promising young talents, marking the beginning of an exciting new era at the BFC.

Stay tuned for squad updates, open training session times and the unveiling of exciting young stars who have committed to the BFC.

🚨Nations Footy Cup Result🚨

The Bharat Warriors (Team India) have finished in a more than respectable third place at today's Nations Footy Cup.

The Warriors narrowly missed out on a grand final berth based on percentage. Needing to win our final game by two goals, the boys fell just short in a thrilling five point win over Malta.
