I was assigned a translation of research paper from English into Marathi. When I sent a draft of 56 pages there was no need to provide my NAATI's digital stamp and was promised the payment of more than 4000 Euros. Then I was asked to send an invoice to which I did.
To my surprise, a demand of 150 Euros came through for receiving the payment of my pending salary from the above email address for a refundable deposit, for the Company Management Membership ID card. Then it was negotiated to 100 Euros instead. I started getting suspicious so checked if this was a scam. I wrote to Toptal company's and my suspicion turned out to be a confirmed scam. I have been lucky enough to ignore that demand because the suggestion was to pay via Skrill, Bitcoin or gift card.
