Raw ghetto footage for the gram of my Friday workoutšŸŽ„

This is my final upper-body workout for the week , so it includes a bit more accessory style lifting and movements. Filling out my training volume for the week to cover all bases & balance goal pursuit.

Ex 1- Standing Cable Fly (Incline) 3x5-10 , not filmed
Ex 2-Tricep Pushdown 2x4-6
Ex 3 - Reverse Cable Curl 2x 4-6
Ex 4- DB Shoulder Press 2 x 5-10, not filmed
Ex 5- Single Arm DB Row 2x 5-10
Superset Ex 6/7 , short rest period
Close Grip Smith Press 2x15-25
Fat Grip Concentration Curl 2x4-6
Ex8 Rear Delt Fly 2x 10-15 , short rest period

I’ve always enjoyed heavier lifting and am really enjoying a focus on grip & arm work this year, a focus I can tell will remain.

Overhead pressing a weak area for me to that I’m excited to be working to improve, a focus which is allowing me to end my tricep growth phase and transition away from a lot of isolation into pressing volume, maintaining what I grew easily.

Amongst injury rehab for my back, I let my training get ā€œboringā€ and there’s nothing worse for progress than that…enjoy your training and everything falls in place.

Ben and I met on the gym floor one afternoon, got along well and ended up training my Chest/Back workout on a Monday for a few months together, after a short while, Ben wanted to step up his training & hired me to write his training programmes.
Ben had been training for a few years & wanted to get more serious about his physique and chasing down big goals.

Coming with big physique development goals, an initial focus was put on improving weak areas of development & improving training hygiene to get more stimulus out of each sessions.
Key areas for development included the whole posterior & chest.

He saw massive development on his posterior muscularity as well as delts, not to mention his abdominal development improved.

In September Ben stepped up from programming into online coaching & let me take over his whole athletic development, chasing large physique development, preparing for enhancement, we set time aside to dot all the i’s and cross all the t’s.

He is moving through a 2 phase recomposition , initially a tidy up & maintenance → lean build.

Phase 1’s focus was on nailing lifestyle & the cadence of a week to optimise muscle building.
Improving digestion , sleep and training hygiene.

This resulted well with his waist shrinking away & tone improving, dropping inflammation from his massing phase.

All those variables are squared away & in great order for us to progress into Phase 2 & drive heaps of new tissue onto his frame, without accumulating any body-fat, leveraging structure & entry level enhancement.

Tweaking his back at work this week, we’re positive he’s still on track to maintain good progress; s**t happens, we keep on.

6 month athletic transformation āš”ļø
WIP🚧

Introducing Cody , he has been training with me since late April this year , it’s been a riot & we’ve managed non-stop progress in all goal related areas.

Coming to me struggling with tendinitis , stagnant strength progression, stubborn pockets of body-fat; we made short work of those.

Since he has unlocked improved triathlon performance, improved muscularity & condition (power:weight ratio), posture and metabolic rate.
Well on his way to his goal of smashing the Busso 100 in 2026.

We started off with a steady recomposition, driven by high output; 6 training days, 1 full rest

āž”ļøPhysically active job
āž”ļø4 weights sessions ; posture, strength, hypertrophy focus
āž”ļø4 Tri sessions ; find sweet spot for progression:recovery
āž”ļøPerformance nutrition to support it all

Once body-fat reached a productive lower limit & training progression slowed, nutrition became progressive & designed to increase size, strength , power & endurance ; at the expense of general efficiency in the medium-long term.

This allows Cody to continue at a similar training volume with a now faster rate of progression, we will continue driving performance with progressive nutrition until food intake , bodyweight or GI comfort interfere with progression.

This marks the end of a 6 month progress block, this lads off to enjoy a well deserved holiday for a few weeks, which is all part of the process!

It’s a pleasure to guide an athlete that loves banging away work , week in week out and letting the process do it’s thing.

October camera dump in no specific order šŸ“†

This month has felt like a cumulation of the majority of my work through my 20s in many aspects; personal, athletic , academic & career wise.

For those out there not sure how it’s going to turns out, it will turn out exactly how you make it , your journey along the way will be determined by perspective.

Client Spotlight šŸ’«

I have had the pleasure of knowing Arash since 2020 as a member of XSFitness, where I started my career.
We’ve been working together since the start of 2024 after he enjoyed an 8 week free exercise program.
Arash goals were primarily fat loss & muscle gain, which he is CHARGING through.

Alongside the body-composition, we are improving his energy & focus for the day to day, metabolism (kcal intake), joint pain and countless movements which had plateaued progress (e.g squat, deadlift).

After an initial recomposition phase , we pushed harder into a diet before reversing the way out & transitioning into this extended performance phase without any ā€˜holds’ ; spending the least amount of time at reduced kcal intake as Arash already had chronically low intake previously.

Arash has plenty of time to push this phase out, the focus moving forward remains on performance in the gym, supported with progressive nutrition.

The motivation after nationals is peaking , just like every other season, as I have, I’ll stay patient and stick to my plan, bodybuilding is still firmly a side quest for me.

Quality training facility, I had an absolute blast hitting my workout there , unbeatable energy and the equipment was absolutely unreal.

Client Spotlight & National Show Wrap Up

Saturday 27th marked the end of 32 months of working towards an improved stage package for
First show 2022 Szn B @ 95kg stage weight

Nationals 2025 Szn C @ 120kg stage weight

The aim after the state show was to improve on his package , make first call out & finish the season on a high ✨

We achieved what we set out, except for a first call out, where the opportunity was not presented.

Tyler not only held his own in the Tall Open Class, but was the most pleasing to the eye in my own unbiased opinion, as well as that of plenty others šŸ„‡

The prep as a whole was smooth, well executed , predicable and enjoyable , which carried onto nationalsšŸ“†

We improved upon the package from states, coming in almost a full kilo heavier despite the removal of GH, compared to its inclusion at states.

This created the most balance look we’ve seen; hard, separated and much rounder then states šŸ’£

For the tallest bodybuilder in Australia , the Physique is absolutely standout, I feel for all those who missed it this time around; pictures won’t do it justice.

This package was fkn awesome & Tyler’s competitive bodybuilding is only going to improve from here šŸš€

Training’s done, fuel’s in, condition is on lock šŸ”

has made great improvements to his package between the state show 2 weeks ago and nationals tomorrow.

After states, I knew I wanted to see Tyler come in heavier, knowing how much better he looks fuller versus flatter, with so much frame to fill.
~118kg on stage at states, aiming for ~119.5kg on stage at nationals — more skin impression from full muscles, more freak factor.

Despite looking better heavier, his condition is sharper ā€œon the way downā€ rather than when carbing up.

To hit both of these requirements and create his most balanced stage look, we re-started loading and higher-volume training post-states, between 625–700g CHO per day.

Through this week coming into the show, I’ve pulled carbs down to 525g, with 575g going in today to maintain his weight after waking up light this morning.

Predictable, repeatable, and in a physiological position to be well posed and presentable on stage.

Australia’s tallest bodybuilder ready to go āœ…
