🏁 SPORTS COMPACT RACE SERIES CHAMPIONS 🏁

Sports Compact Race Series has had an incredible year in 2025. Firstly, we'd like to thank all of you who went racing, created story lines and contributed to the 20+ strong fields the whole season.

We must also commend our club President Travis Talbot. Appointed last year, Trav and the committee have moved the club forward with vision, direction and ex*****on. That is set to continue into 2026, with more presence, more TV and a special interstate event.

Thank you to the media team, who have helped along the way and assisted me when I've been caught up. You've been brilliant at brainstorming ideas and helping bring eye's to the category and our sponsors.

lastly, Congratulations to our 2025 Championship Class Winners and podium finishers. We look forward to you defending and challenging in 2026, but enjoy the moment and celebrate with a well deserved break.

What a weekend we had Calder Park. With freezing cold temperatures and literal lakes in the middle of the track on Saturday we some how managed to qualify P3.

Race 1 we had a great battle with series new comer Larry Merifield, we held onto our starting position to finish P3, making us the 10th different car to take a podium place for the year.

Race 2 was pretty rinse and repeat, the rinsing part was pretty easy with the amount of water about. Bit of late braking into turn one on the penultimate lap saw us drop from 3rd to 4th to cross the line.

Race 3 was first up on Sunday morning, with the sun out made for tricky conditions with some parts of the track drying while other parts still quite wet. With Jimbo Harris having a big spin at turn one, we had flash backs of the last round with Matt Thewlis at the wheel. So we did all we could to take evasive action, but dropped quite a few spots. But managed to come back and finish 6th.

Race 4 took place in brilliant sunshine, with the big power cars coming out on slicks, there was not much we could do but wave as they drove past. Still had plenty of fun and had a bit of a race with Neil Chesterton, Steve Howard and Steven Scukovic we came home in 8th place.

More that happy with the weekend, coming home with a straight car, and remembering how to drive in the wet. Even bringing home a trophy for 3rd in class.

Couldn't of done it with out Jamie-Lee Graafmans and Rob Field for all the help over the weekend

Thus closes out the 2025 season, even the we only did 2 rounds we had a blast, and can't wait for season 2026.

Qualifying has been run here at a cold and wet Calder Park for the last round of the 2 Litre Sports Sedan Club 2025 series.

Despite installing a water feature on the second last lap, Lee managed one last flyer to the checked flag to put the car P3 outright. Race 1 coming up at 1:40pm on BLEND LINE TV premium.

Weekend review from Calder Park with 2 Litre Sports Sedan Club. Firstly thanks to Race Driver Coach Matt Thewlis for jumping in the car for the weekend.
With the weather being super cold we found it hard to make tyre temp which made the switch to the new Yokohama Tyre Australia a050 a little more difficult. With safety cars in ever session it also didn't help.

With only 3 laps in practice we went stright into qually, Matt put the car in 7th with a red flag coming out again as he was getting more and more comfortable in the car.

Race one saw a ripper start passing cars down the inside into turn 1, but with some faster cars coming from the back we finished where we started in 7th

Races 2 was a rinse and repeat starting and finishing in 7th.

We come to Sunday morning race 3 Matt was driving well, car feeling good starting to make some places when another car spun into 1 leaving Matt no where to go and making heavy contact. It bend the lower control arm so much the wheel was pushed into the body of the car, calling and early end to the weekend. Happy to say all the safety gear in the car did its job and Matt is fine.

Well fix it up and be back on track as soon as we can.

DRIVER ANNOUNCEMENT.

With Lee jetting off to the UK in just over a week we have subbed inRace Driver Coach poilet Matt Tewlis.

Matt has pretty much driven everything, everywhere. From driver training all around the country to the Bathurst 6 hour and even monster trucks. He also has a history of driving a pulsar back in the pulsar challenge days.

With a couple of improvements to the #10 Allstairs Racing pulsar we are keen to see how Matt going at Calder Park this weekend. With the weather looking good and a stacked Sports Compact by 2 Litre Sports Sedan Club grid we are looking forward to a great weekend of racing.
