Capoeira Filhos da Bahia school in Melbourne needs help.

After 22 years of sharing this amazing Martial Art in an equally amazing space in Collingwood, Mestre Val has to close the school and relocate elsewhere. It has been challenging times, but another solution can be found to continue with the teaching and sharing of this Afro-brazilian Art and culture.

Today is the day of our 25th International Capoeira encounter.

One year ago our Capoeira school was about to close its doors in Collingwood....and we didn't let it happen.

One year after we are still here, stronger than ever.

Come today in many....bring with you a lot of energy and your fully open heart....as this will be a memorable event. Let's celebrate together our 25th Batezado...let's celebrate our Mestre and our Wonderful community.

DAY 6, 7 & 8

Some days are just too busy to post every day....so why not joining three days in one post 😀

After Survival day in Belgrave, on Sunday, we went to the same park where the event took place and it has been great to sing and play atabaque+pandeiro there...and then we enjoyed the last two days of holidays as my boy starts school on Wednesday. New year ❤ New adventures

And we are so excited that Capoeira in coming to Dandenong Ranges....My oldest capoerista made a special sign to promote it and sticked it close to our Mail box 🙂 pure Love ❤

DAY 3 & 4

Capoeiristas need to rest too....especially when they don't feel well.....and then is so hot, that is better to rest and stay cool anyway. 44 degrees announced for today....woooooffff. Thankfully it will start dropping soon. AXÈ

DAY 2

Last year in April, I did an experiment that lasted 29 days.....and Capoeira 29 was born.

Every day for 29 days I wore capoeira clothes to promote this amazing art around my area and everywhere else I went. It has been a great experience and I decided to do it again....now, less than a year after a great project is born....and yesterday, the 22nd of Jan 2019 we announced we are expanding and coming to Upwey.

How exciting. It is going to be an amazing year this 2019....I can feel it. And this year is also 25 years since our Master started teaching here in Australia....he is the one who brought Capoeira from Salvador Bahia in Brazil to this wonderful Land Down Under. What a journey. Thank you Mestre.
...and today,well, I have been picking blueberries in Olinda and making some jam....will need to make a good Blueberry cake soon to Celebrate this amazing Event 🙂

Dear friends....it is official....in two weeks, on the 5th of February, Capoeira Filhos da Bahia and Mestre Val Boa Morte are coming to Upwey. We are very excited and can't wait to start training in the Hills ❤ Stay tuned for more info ❤ AXÈ

It was the 22nd of October 2016....

2 years ago I stepped in Capoeira Filhos da Bahia for the first time and I strated training with Mestre Val Boa Morte. It seems much more than that....longer than two years.....but it is not. It has been two intense years, that is why it feels so far away....I have learned so much with him and all the other Capoeristas that I met.

I remember I did this photo of the Berimbau with my rainbow top....and he got inspired by it and wrote those words for it.... And I did this photo as he inspired me. They way he plays that ancient instrument is unique and powerful.

Thank you my Mestre, thank you for giving me your Capoeira knowledge....thank you for sharing it with such dedication and passion.

And is interesting that exactly after this two amazing years, he has been teaching us this song...

In the last 7 days, something amazing has been produced. Something I never thought I would be able to put together so fast.

Today at a restaurant we celebrated a Gorgeous and Kind Woman who turned 40....the same woman that thought me how to crochet in October 2017. Thanks to her kindness and patience I learned a new skill....an amazing skill that I love very much and gives me an incredible opportunity to express myself and my creativity. A skill that takes me back into my child memories of when I used to sit down on the kitchen bench with my Grandma while she was knitting me a hat, gloves, a warm scarf, all amazing and warm creations, that I always carry inside of me.....and at that time I used to wear them and I remember how proud I was she made them for me. ❤ Thank you my dear Stara mama. Rada Te imam ❤

Friends and Mothers, plus one Father 🙂 came together to produce 40 crochetted granny squares and I received them all one week ago....the idea was to make a scarf....and so I did. For the first time in my life I made a woollen scarf ❤

Both my kids have been sick in this same week....resting a lot and not eating....miracles of a Gastro 😀 .....so at the end I was not too requested and could take it easy, rest myself and crochet this beautiful peace of art. ❤ I am in Love ❤
