I’m excited to share that I’ll be a guest speaker at the Sydney Multicultural Mental Health Professionals' Network on July 9th, 2026! 😊🎤✨
A heartfelt thank you to Dr Gihane Endrawes from the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University for the invitation. 🙏
Topic: Self-Care Across Cultures: Shifting Limiting Beliefs to Prevent Burnout
Self-care is widely recognised as essential, but for many mental health professionals, especially those from multicultural backgrounds, it’s not always easy to practise.
Deeply ingrained cultural values - such as prioritising others, being strong, and linking self-worth to productivity - can make rest feel uncomfortable, or even undeserved.
In this session, I’ll be exploring:
🌸 How cultural beliefs shape our relationship with self-care
🌸 The hidden patterns that contribute to burnout
🌸 Practical ways to gently reframe limiting beliefs, without losing connection to our cultural values
This is about moving from self-sacrifice to sustainable care, so we can continue showing up for others without losing ourselves in the process.
You’ll walk away with:
🌷 A deeper understanding of self-care as a foundation for both well-being and professional effectiveness
🌷 Insight into how cultural values influence your approach to rest and responsibility
🌷 Greater clarity on the limiting beliefs that may be keeping you stuck
🌷 Practical self-care strategies you can integrate into your daily life
🌷 A renewed sense of inspiration to care for yourself in a sustainable way
