Off season starts now.

Today was back and biceps with my fiancée, and honestly, this is the part of the journey I’m most excited for.

After a long prep and stepping on stage, it feels good to shift the focus back to building. More food, better performance, stronger lifts, and improving the areas that need more work.

For today’s session, the main focus was back width, upper back thickness, and finishing with some biceps work. Every movement had a purpose — from MAG grip pulldowns and wide grip pulldowns for width, to rows and face pulls for upper back development.

Training with someone who supports the process makes off season feel even more meaningful. It’s not just about chasing numbers or getting bigger. It’s about building discipline, creating better habits, and improving together.

Time to build a better version for the next stage. 🖤

Client Spotlight: Gordon 👏

Gordon had already been training for quite some time before we started working together, but the biggest area we needed to improve was his nutrition, structure, and consistency.

What made his prep even more challenging was his job as a chef. Being surrounded by food every single day, preparing meals for others, and still having to stay disciplined with his own diet requires a serious level of self-control.

Throughout this process, Gordon continued to show up, stay accountable, and make the necessary adjustments to bring a much more refined physique to the stage.

His results across ICN Bendigo and ICN Victoria were a reflection of the work he put in:

🥉 ICN Bendigo Men’s Fitness Open 3rd Overall
🥈 ICN Victoria Men’s Fitness Rookies 2nd Place

I’m incredibly proud of how far Gordon has come. Not just because of the placings, but because of the discipline, patience, and professionalism he showed throughout the prep.

Massive congratulations, Gordon. This is only the beginning, and I’m excited to see what we can bring next. 💪

Starting my off season.

After months of prep, dieting, pushing for condition and chasing the stage look, it feels good to finally shift the focus back to building.

Today’s session was focused on biceps and shoulders — controlled reps, full range of motion, and making every set count.

The goal for this off season is simple:
more muscle, better structure, improved weak points, and bringing a better version next time I step on stage.

This is where the real work starts. 🛠️

Biceps & shoulders focus.
Off season begins now.

This season has meant a lot to me. 🏆

Grateful to have competed in three shows: PCA Australia, Muscle Mania Shenzhen, and Muscle Mania Chengdu. Along the way, I met many amazing mentors, friends, and people who supported and encouraged me through this journey. 🙏

Season results:

🏆 PCA Australia
Men’s Physique First Timer — 3rd 🥉
Men’s Physique Open — 3rd 🥉

🏆 Muscle Mania Shenzhen
Muscle Model Novice Class B — 2nd 🥈
Muscle Model Open Class B — 5th

🏆 Muscle Mania Chengdu
Classic Physique Novice Class C — 1st 🥇
Classic Physique Novice Overall — 1st 🏆
Classic Physique Open Overall — 2nd 🥈
Muscle Model Open — 3rd 🥉
Men’s Physique Novice Class C — 3rd 🥉
Men’s Physique Novice Open Class D — 2nd 🥈

One of the biggest moments was being only one placing away from earning my pro card in Classic Physique at Chengdu. So close, but also a big reminder that there is still so much room to improve. 🔥

I didn’t achieve every goal I wanted, but I can honestly say I brought the best version of myself at this point in time. Bodybuilding has taught me discipline, sacrifice, patience, and how much every detail matters.

Now it’s time to recover, enjoy life, grow, and build a better version of myself.

I’ll be back. Stronger, better, and more complete. 🖤

Today I had the honour of meeting one of my idols, Super Body Jin.

I still remember watching his videos years ago, and those videos played a big role in inspiring me to step into the Sports Model category and begin my own competitive journey.

Meeting him in person today honestly felt like a dream come true.

And I have to say, he was a lot bigger in person than I thought he would be. I still can’t believe he is sitting around 96–97kg while maintaining such a low level of body fat. Truly impressive.

I’m extremely grateful for the posing and training tips he shared with me, and even more grateful for the inspiration he has given me over the years.

Moments like this remind me why I started, how far I’ve come, and how much more there is to learn in this sport.

Thank you again, Jin. Truly an unforgettable experience. 🙏

Proud to have had the opportunity to host and mentor university interns from Deakin University, La Trobe University and Swinburne University who are currently studying Exercise & Sport Science degrees.

Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to work with students during their placement and help them gain exposure to the real-world side of the fitness industry. A lot of what we learn at university is built around theory, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and exercise prescription, but being able to apply that knowledge with real clients is a completely different skill.

During their time with us, the students were able to observe and experience different areas of coaching, including client communication, exercise technique, session structure, hypertrophy training principles, progress tracking, coaching cues, professionalism and how to build confidence when working in a gym environment.

One of the most rewarding parts for me is seeing students become more confident over time. At the start, many students are quiet, unsure and still learning how to communicate with clients. But as they spend more time in the facility, ask questions, shadow sessions and get involved, you can see their confidence, practical understanding and professionalism develop.

I’ve always believed that good coaching is not just about knowing exercises or writing programs. It’s about understanding people, building trust, communicating clearly, knowing how to adjust training based on the individual, and being able to explain the “why” behind what we do.

To all the students who completed their placement with me, thank you for your effort, attitude and willingness to learn. I’m grateful to have been part of your development and I hope the experience gave you more confidence moving forward in the Exercise & Sport Science field.

Practical learning. Supportive mentoring. Real-world coaching experience.

Current pull day - 2 weeks out from my next bodybuilding show.
At this stage of prep, the goal isn’t just to move heavy weight. It’s about ex*****on, control, maintaining intensity, and making every rep count.

For this session, the focus was on:
Lat lengthening and contraction
Controlled eccentric tempo
Elbow path and torso position
Upper back and rear delt detail
Maintaining training quality close to show day

As fatigue builds deeper into prep, exercise selection and ex*****on become even more important. Less ego lifting, more intent behind every rep.
Save this if you‘re looking to improve your pull day structure.

03/06/2026

Are you actually training hard enough?

A lot of people don’t need a more complicated program — they need better ex*****on, better intent, and a more honest understanding of effort.

Training hard doesn’t mean ego lifting or just chasing fatigue.

It means controlled reps, good technique, and pushing your working sets close enough to failure to actually create a stimulus.

Ask yourself next session:

Did I stop because I truly had nothing left?

Or did I stop because it started to feel uncomfortable?

That’s where real progress starts.

Train hard. Train smart. Progress over time.
