A journey that hasn’t been without, and continues to face, many challenges with regulatory and funding hurdles. But the future for OzFish and fish habitat is bright, made possible by recreational fishers on the ground - Australia’s aquatic conservationists.

Day 2 of in stunning Melbourne has fired up with another jam-packed program today of engaging and exciting talks spanning from first nations and fishing participation and diversity, keynotes from Stan Lui, Craig Copeland and Ingrid van Putten.

Return ‘Em Right will be leading a workshop at 10:30 on handling fish to reduce mortality, and Valerio Sbragaglia is up this afternoon at 2:50pm to lead a workshop on integration of digital recreational fisheries data for research & monitoring.

Also today, the exciting and much anticipated results of the National Recreational Fishing Survey will be released as part of our special session at 1pm.

Today is guaranteed to generate much discussion, ideas and plant the seeds for future growth and opportunity in the rec fishing sphere.
