Another Saturday is upon us, and if we're being honest... it's not looking very promising.

Cold? ✔️
Wet? ✔️
Windy? Probably ✔️
Ideal cricket weather? Absolutely not 😂

Yet somehow, here we are, prepared and looking forward to it.

We can't quite believe we're saying that about a freezing, wet winter Saturday, but that's what winter cricket does to you. After a few rounds, you either embrace the conditions or start looking up flights to Queensland 🥶✈️

Both teams are still hungry to bounce back after some recent tough losses. The results haven't gone our way lately, but the attitude, effort, and belief within the group remain strong.

Every season has its challenges. Every good team faces adversity.

The important thing is how we respond.

This week is another opportunity to show character, back our mates, and remind ourselves what EBCCC cricket is all about. 💙💛

Another cold and wet winter Saturday awaits...

Honestly, we feel for the boys. Most people will be tucked away under a blanket with a hot coffee, while our cricketers will be standing in the rain wondering why they signed up for winter cricket in the first place 😂🥶

But that's exactly what makes this game special.

After a really tough outing last round, both teams are hungry to respond. The disappointment has been parked, the lessons have been learned, and now it's time to focus on what comes next.

Because great teams aren't judged by how they celebrate victories—they're judged by how they bounce back from setbacks. 💪

🏏❄️ ROUND 4 RESULTS – A TOUGH WEEK FOR THE BOYS IN BLUE & YELLOW 💙💛

Winter cricket can be a funny game. One week you're feeling on top of the world, the next week it reminds you that there's still plenty of work to do.

Unfortunately, Round 4 was one of those weeks.

❌ EBCCC lost by 104 runs

🏏 Xavier Shield
✈️ Away vs Ghan United Snow Leopards
❌ EBCCC lost by 116 runs

It's fair to say this was an extremely rough week for our boys. Both teams found themselves on the wrong side of some big margins, with losses of more than 100 runs.

The frustrating part? Both teams had their moments.

There were opportunities.
There were passages of play where we looked in control.
There were chances to shift the momentum.

But cricket is a game that rewards teams who grab those moments with both hands, and unfortunately we couldn't quite capitalise when it mattered most.

The good news? The season isn't won in Round 4.

Nobody remembers how many times you get knocked down. They remember how you respond.

This club has too much character, too much talent, and too much fight to dwell on one difficult weekend. The only direction from here is forward. Heads up, chests out, and let's attack the next round with determination, confidence, and a point to prove. 💪🔥
