Women over 40... strength declining? hormones whacky?
Then you want more strength, less stress. And stress comes in many forms, not just emotional stress. Things like not enough sleep and over training and a poor diet all contribute to stress in the body.
When it comes to exercise though strength training is your friend. While I love long distance running, it's not the friend to me that it used to be over 40 (well, over 50). Instead it's better to prioritise strength training with less reps, more weight.
That doesn't mean don't run (omg, I hate when I read that running is crap... do what you enjoy because it's better than sitting on the couch!), but strength training 2-3 times per week will help manage your age related muscle and hormone loss 💪🏋️♀️
Oh, and did I mention protein? Eat more protein! 🍗🥚🍣🥛🥜
