*Kerala 4x4 Vic Inc – 4WD Training Event Recap* 16/3/2025 at Lerderderg State Forest training ground
Despite the rain and muddy conditions, our recent 4WD training event at Lerderderg Training Ground was a fantastic success! A total of 10 participant vehicles joined us with co passengers totalled approx. 15 members, plus committee members and vehicles, for a day of learning, challenges, and fun.
All participants took on tracks and obstacles that were comfortable with.
Most vehicles were stock-standard, and we took extreme care to make sure no cars were damaged—many even lifted wheels through bog holes which I’m sure everyone enjoyed and thrilled at.
Our training covered essential topics, including:
Understanding your 4WD – traction control systems, differentials, and lockers
Bare minimum modifications needed to explore off-road
Recovery tools and how to use them safely etc
A demo was also done on tyre puncture repair using a standard puncture kit.
To wrap up the day, we held a lucky draw:
🏆 1st Prize (XTM Double Compressor) – won by Tom Mathew
🥈 2nd Prize (XTM Deflator) – won by Vinu Sebastian
A special appreciation to Basil Jacob and Jojin Antony, who initially won the 1st and 2nd prizes but generously put them back for a redraw, as they already have one or not needing right now, allowing others who didn’t have the gear to benefit from it. Really appreciate your community spirit!
A huge thank you to everyone who braved the weather, stayed engaged, and made the event such a success. It was a pleasure to share our knowledge with such a friendly group, and we, as committee members, feel proud to have helped get you started on your 4WD journey.
