🏆 THE THOMSON TROPHY — 2026 🏆

A very special award with an incredible history ❤️💙🤍

The Thomson Trophy has been presented every year since 1968, recognising our club’s best worker and club person — someone who goes above and beyond for Mordialloc.

This year, we are incredibly proud to announce Diana David as the recipient of the 2026 Thomson Trophy. 🏆👏

The trophy honours the remarkable contribution of Jack and Ivy Thomson, who were Mordialloc members from 1945 to 1967.

Jack served as Club President for an incredible 18 years and was a Life Member of our club, the Royal Life Saving Society and the South East Beaches Association. He is also credited with securing a £6,000 donation from the Mordialloc Carnival Committee to help build our clubhouse, which officially opened in 1958.

Ivy was one of those indispensable, hardworking members that every club relies on and was made a Life Member in 1959.

The Thomson Trophy is chosen by the committee at our Annual General Meeting and can be awarded to any member — not just someone who sits on the committee. While so many members are worthy of recognition, the award is intended to celebrate one outstanding club person each year.

🚣‍♀️ WE’RE ROWING FOR MENTAL FITNESS! 💙

Mordialloc Life Saving Club is proud to be taking part in the Gotcha4Life 24hr Row! 🌊

From 12pm Saturday 12 September to 12pm Sunday 13 September, we’ll be rowing for 24 hours to help raise awareness and funds for mental fitness and su***de prevention.

Huge congratulations to Mordialloc Life Saving Club’s Harrison (Harry) Scurrah — an incredible milestone in his lifesaving journey.

Harry has been selected in the Australian Lifesaving Youth Team, a prestigious honour that recognises exceptional talent, dedication, and commitment to the sport. In late November, he will travel to Port Elizabeth, South Africa, to represent Australia on the international stage at the Lifesaving World Championships. 💚💛

Wearing the green and gold is a privilege earned by only the most outstanding young athletes, and the entire Mordialloc Life Saving Club community couldn’t be prouder of Harry’s achievement 🔴⚪️🔵

🇦🇺🏆 MORDIALLOC LSC — AUSTRALIAN POOL RESCUE CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏆🇦🇺

What an incredible few days in the City of Churches! 🔴⚪🔵

Mordialloc LSC sent 26 athletes to Adelaide for the Australian Pool Rescue Championships — and what a performance they delivered!

💥 5th Club in Australia on the overall points tally! 💥

To finish 5th in Australia against the best pool rescue clubs in the country is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the talent, hard work and commitment of our athletes.

Congratulations to our Mordialloc Life Saving Club members who have been selected to represent the Big V at the 2026 SLSA Pool Rescue Championships.

The event will run from 7–9 August at the South Australia Aquatic & Leisure Centre in Adelaide, and we couldn’t be prouder of their achievement and dedication.

Their hard work, commitment, and passion for lifesaving continue to inspire our whole club community. Go Team Mordi — we’ll be cheering you on all the way. ❤️🤍💙

Our first clubhouse was washed away in the 1933 flood, but the club rebuilt — stronger than ever.

Every setback became part of our story of resilience. 💦

Back in 1921, MLSC volunteers began their first beach patrols — armed with nothing but passion and a few rescue reels!
