Netball Queensland Country Carnival – We came, we saw, we conquered! 🔥
Regional netball was on full display in Mackay last weekend, and Cairns Netball Association showed exactly what our program is about.
We travelled with 6 teams, 67 athletes, 12 coaches and managers, and 2 program leads – and delivered a strong representation of our pathway in action.
🏆 Results
U14 Gold – 🥉 4th
U14 Green – 9th
U13 Gold – 🥈 2nd
U13 Green – 4th
U12 Gold – 5th
U12 Green – 4th
But more than results, this weekend showcased the strength of our program.
Across all teams, athletes demonstrated growth in skill ex*****on, decision-making under pressure, resilience, connection and most importantly effort. The consistency and competitiveness across the board was outstanding, and it translated into some great scoreboard outcomes.
Off the court, our athletes set the standard. From hydration and nutrition to recovery, mindset and behaviour, they applied everything they’ve been learning throughout the program. The way they represented Cairns Netball did not go unnoticed.
This carnival was a critical step in our junior representative journey – testing our preparation and highlighting exactly where we continue to build as we head towards Junior State Age in July.
We’re proud. We’re building. And we’re just getting started.

This year’s squad reflects the continued growth of our program, bringing together a high-quality mix of emerging talent and experienced athletes who embody the values of commitment, professionalism and regional pride.

Each player has earned their position through dedication and performance, and we are confident this group will represent Far North Queensland with distinction both on and off the court.

We look forward to the season ahead as we continue to build on last year’s momentum and further establish the Far North Flames as a competitive and respected presence.
