Lalor parkrun

Lalor parkrun Lalor parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 8am every Saturday morning in Lalor, Victoria.

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Lalor parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful gardens and get physically active in the process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there! Getting there via transport:

From Thomastown Train Station to Whittlesea Public Gardens:
• Bus – take the 554 bus (37 minutes), bus 357 (35 mins) or bus 557 (41
mins)
• Car – 8 min car drive
• Cycle - via metro ring road trail (21 mins and 5.5km), via Edgars road
(26 mins and 8.1km) or via High Street and Cooper Street (28 mins and
8.9km)
• Walk - 54 mins (4.4km)

From Lalor Train Station to Whittlesea Public Gardens:
• Bus – take 557 bus (45 mins)
• Car – 7 min car drive
• Cycle – via Edgars road (20 mins and 7.4km)
• Walk – via Kingsway drive (50 mins and 4.1km)

This week 63 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom an amazing 17 were first timers! and 5 legends recorded new Personal Bests.

We had a few tourists from Diamond creek, point Cook and maribyrnong and some shy ones that would tell us where they were from !

We also had 2 unofficial milestones that will soon be officially part of the milestone club,
Ruth Jones completing her 200th
And Sarah Stark completing her 300th !
Amazing stuff ! Well done!

There is always space for vollies, so if you are a lil light on your vollie % please do help out as the event won't occur without vollies !

This week 38 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 14 were first timers and 4 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 2 different clubs took part.

We welcomed tourists from the USA and the UK.
