⚾KBC Development Pathway⚾

Do you currently have a child playing in our Junior program or have a child interested in playing a new sport? Are you looking for something a bit more advanced? Have you wondered what is the next step for my child? 🤔

Introducing our Junior Development Pathway! This pathway is a recommendation and is to aid those who are not quite sure where the next step is for their child in their Baseball journey. Please note that each child progresses differently and the path is individual to the child, hopefully this will help you and your child decide where to go next!💙🤍

At Kelmscott, we introduce our youngest players to the game through Teeball. Designed for children from Kindy through to Year 6, Teeball provides a fun and supportive environment where players develop the fundamental skills that form the foundation of baseball and other diamond sports.

As players grow in confidence and ability, they can progress to either our Machine Pitch or Little League programs. In these divisions, the tee is removed, allowing players to further develop their batting skills in a more traditional baseball setting. Machine Pitch is suitable for players aged 7–10, with the ball delivered by a pitching machine, while Little League introduces live pitching from an opposing player and offers a simplified version of the full game. These programs are recommended for players aged 8–12.

The next stage of development is Junior Baseball, which includes Intermediate League, Junior League, Big League, and our U16 Girls team. While the U16 Girls team is exclusively for female players, both boys and girls are welcome in all other Junior Baseball divisions. These competitions are ideal for players aged 12–16 and provide opportunities to further refine their skills and understanding of the game.

The final step in the Kelmscott development pathway is Senior Baseball. Players aged 15 and over are eligible to join our senior teams, where they can compete alongside experienced players and continue developing their game at a higher level. Players progressing from our U16 Girls program will transition directly into our Women's Team, providing a clear pathway for continued participation and growth within the club.

No matter where a player begins, Kelmscott offers a supportive pathway that allows them to develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy baseball at every stage of their journey.
