Kedron parkrun Kedron parkrun is free, timed, 5km run/walk put on by the community for the community at 7am every S The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can be really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Kedron parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful environment and get phyiscally active in the process. WE want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability - this event is truly open to all and the best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy - just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. Print out your barcode to bring along to the run, then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there! Our Kedron parkrun Team

Help support the expansion of junior parkrun - free 2k events for 4 to 14 years olds held on Sunday mornings.

A friend of Kedron parkrun and former RD, Tracey Wood and others have put together a proposed junior parkrun event at Earnshaw Stat College junior parkrun up the road in Banyo.

A course is approved, landholder permission received and a group of core volunteers have offered their support.

Last on the list is some fundraising to get the event going and pay for the equipment and setup. They are almost half way there.

If you can support this cause please feel free to donate whatever you can spare (tax deductible) at the Australian Sports Foundation donation page

Good luck Tracey and team.

πŸ’œ Kedron parkrun β€” the roster's pretty full for this week.

Thanks to everyone who's already picked their spot for Saturday. You've chosen to spend your morning in hi-vis. 😊 It's a great morning out. parkrun's own research found volunteers report an even greater sense of happiness than people who only walk or run. Marshalling the bridge, handing out tokens and celebrating with others increases that sense of happiness from being an enabler of your event.

It also means you support 400+ people who will walk, jog, run and spectate helping these participants get their day off to a good start as well. Volunteers winning. πŸ™Œ

So lets look ahead at our roster for future weeks and share the love.

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ You don't have to pick one or the other. Tail Walker, First Timers' Welcome, Barcode Scanning, Photographer, Pre-Event Set Up β€” every one of them earns a volunteer credit and a walk/run credit as well. Bring your barcode and do both. πŸ’š

No experience needed, we'll show you everything on the day, and every credit counts towards your milestone club shirt. πŸ… Bring a friend or the family and make a morning of it - some roles are made for pairs. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§

You can see what roles we have in the weeks ahead at the link below and email or IM us or simply add your name on the roster at the event

See you Saturday! 🎽
