Men’s Health Week 🤎🖤
For us, Men’s Health Week is a reminder of something community sport does really well.
A football club is more than just training and games. It’s a place where mates catch up, have a chat, share a feed, get active, and look out for each other. Sometimes the most important conversations happen on the sidelines, in the clubhouse, or after training.
The mental health benefits of being connected to a club and a community can’t be underestimated, and we’re proud to provide a place where our men can build friendships, stay active, and know they’re part of something bigger.
This year’s Men’s Health Week campaign, “101 Reasons to See Your GP”, is also a timely reminder that looking after your health isn’t just about dealing with injuries or illness when they arise. Regular check-ups can help identify potential issues early, keep you performing at your best, and ensure you’re around for many more seasons to come.
This week we’ve also put some focus on physical wellbeing. On Tuesday night, our FQPL Men took part in a a stretching and recovery session delivery by One Body Exercise Physiology: Reformer Pilates Studio, helping the boys look after their bodies as the season rolls on.
Tonight, our Over 35 Men will come together for a team dinner, with our FQPL Men taking their turn tomorrow night.
To top it off, all senior men across the club will be entered into a draw to win one of two sports massages.
Take care of yourselves, check in on your mates, and remember that sometimes the simple things - a kick of a ball, a chat, and a laugh with friends can make a real difference.
