The Hughenden Golf Club hosted an unforgettable, NRL-themed novelty golf day sponsored by Carter Sheds, blending the best of rugby league drama with the greens.
The event turned into a day of absolute fun, complete with controversial bunker calls, player defections, and strict "HIA" protocols.
Here is how the action-unfolded on the course:
⛳ The Match Review Committee Report
* Controversial Bunker Calls: Golfers found themselves at the mercy of the Bunker with the leaderboard in true NRL fashion. Congratulations to all Losers who became winners 🏆
* Mid-Round Player Defections: True to modern rugby league fashion, the mid-season transfer window opened at the 1st hole. Golfers suddenly defected to opposing teams before the round began "lured" by the promise of cold drinks or a better golf cart.
* The HIA (Head Injury Assessment) Only 1 Category 1 HIA with one player not returning. Reports are that several players are suffering from category 2 HIA the day after play.
* The Ultimate Hydration Team: Staying hydrated is key to any match, and the dedicated hydration team made sure no squad suffered from fatigue. They kept all teams perfectly hydrated throughout the entire day, driving around with mobile refreshment stations to keep spirits high.
The day was an absolute triumph of community spirit, laughs, and competitive banter, cementing the Carter Sheds NRL Golf Day as a brand-new local classic.
The team at Hughenden Golf Club thank every player who supported the day. See you all next year ⛳️
