“Belly to spine!” “Suck in your core!” “Core strong!”

Here’s some good tips on how to make the most out of those cues. A strong connected core is what you’re wanting to feel, not just “sucked in”.

Watch out for:
❌ Ribs flaring out
❌ Not feeling abs engaged
❌ Shoulders rising up

Instead focus on:
✅ Starting from the pelvic floor and “zipping up” through your core
✅ Ribs staying down and feeling connected with core
✅ Feeling those deep deep abs holding your ribs and hips together

Today’s workout! Lots of single leg and core focus in this one. Also lots of unplanned resting and seeing some “mom watch this” tricks IYKYK.
I’m bringing moms into my home gym as a comfortable space they can train while bringing their kids. Reach out if you’re feeling stuck in training or unable to workout “because of the kids”.

This exercise from is such a good one for lots of reasons! A big one being you can use your kid as the weight. Benefit of that is they keep getting bigger so you keep getting stronger.

WORKOUT

It doesn’t have to be long or complicated to be effective. I wanted a quick one to get my heart rate up and make me feel good for the rest of the day. I did this while Izzy napped while listening to the static of the baby monitor 😅 I’m sure I’ll revisit it..it will be fun to see how the stats change as I get fitter again!
