Speedway Sedans Victoria is celebrating a momentous milestone, with its latest racing season delivering historic car counts across three of its premier divisions. Of the five core national sedan classes represented by the state body—Super Sedans, Modified Sedans, Production Sedans, Street Stocks, and Junior Sedans—three have reached their highest participant numbers in history.
This incredible growth highlights a thriving local speedway community, driven by smart regulations and intense track action.
THE PRODUCTION SEDAN BOOM (UP 577%)
The standout story of the decade belongs to the SSA Production Sedans. Just ten years ago, the class was fighting for survival on the Victorian circuit with a meager grid of just 9 registered cars. Fast forward to this past season, and the class has absolutely exploded to 61 cars across the state. This represents an astronomical 577.78% increase in car numbers, cementing Production Sedans as one of the most popular and competitive divisions on the dirt today.
SUPER SEDANS THRIVING
Often regarded as the heavy hitters of sedan racing, the SSA Super Sedans are experiencing their own major resurgence. Ten years ago, the V8-powered class maintained a steady but modest field of 17 cars. Thanks to renewed competitor interest and the introduction of crate engines, the grid has grown significantly to 27 active cars. The 58% growth proves that the demand for high-horsepower, purpose-built sedan racing is healthier than ever in Victoria.
JUNIOR SEDANS HIT ALL TIME RECORD
The future of the sport is in safe hands, as SSA Junior Sedans have officially hit their highest registration level ever recorded in Victoria. According to track organizers and club officials, a massive driver of this historic peak is the highly successful reintroduction of 1200cc sedans as their own division within the Junior Sedan class. By creating a distinct space for 1200cc maximum engines, Speedway Sedans Victoria has successfully retained classic, older machinery in the class—most notably iconic Datsuns (such as the 1200, 120Y, and Sunny) and vintage Toyota Corollas. Instead of these timeless cars being phased out by newer models, the rules allow young drivers an affordable, competitive entry point into motorsport while preserving speedway history on the track.

With grid sizes bursting at the seams and the junior ranks overflowing with talent, the five classes governing Victorian sedan racing have never looked stronger.
