Meet Karen….Karen is 70 years old & does CrossFit three times a week 🙌

Karen can run, skip, squat, press, throw, carry, deadlift & burpee. She can sit up, step up , push up , row, ski & bike. Embracing our vision that CrossFits methodology can and should be enjoyed by everyone 💛

This shouldn’t be the exception; as we age remaining strong & active is as if not MORE important than for our younger athletes. The goal to remain functional, independent & healthy physically and socially for as long as possible should be something we are all aiming towards. And it’s never too late to start this process.

We think Karen is amazing. And we would love to see more of our older generation join Karen in making this the norm rather than the exception 💛

This Saturday our workout was in honour of U.S. Air Force Capt. Ryan P. Hall, who died Feb. 18, 2012, near Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa, when his single-engine U-28 aircraft crashed. The 30-year-old was one of four total fatalities.

The “Hall” Hero WOD was first posted on crossfit.com as the workout of the day for Sunday, June 7, 2015 (150607).

A big ass chipper combining larger rep schemes that brought a dose of adversity to the workout. Everyone’s favourite bench press , coupled with heavy carry’s, high skill gymnastics , time on the ergs and the GHD sit up. There was something to suit everyone with the combination delivering a challenging workout.
