“My government’s number one priority is to keep the people of NSW safe and that means making these changes.”

That was Chris Minns’ justification for ramming through rushed fi****ms laws on the eve of Christmas.

Fast forward just over five months, and from open police and media reporting alone, I can identify at least 24 separate criminal shooting incidents in NSW since the Bondi attack.

Read that again.

Criminal shootings.

Drive-bys. Public place shootings. Homes shot up. People wounded. People killed. Criminals still using illegal fi****ms while the government pretends licensed firearm owners are the problem.

So here is the question.

Is anyone feeling safer yet?

Or are more people now starting to realise this whole rushed “community safety” package was smoke and mirrors, and that the so-called terror response became a political attack on lawful firearm owners, licensed dealers, small businesses, professional pest controllers, farmers and sporting shooters in NSW?

The criminals were never lining up at the Fi****ms Registry.

They are not worried about PTA delays.

They are not worried about arbitrary firearm caps.

They are not worried about crushing legitimate firearm dealers.

And if there is a buy-back, does anyone seriously believe criminals with illegal guns are going to politely hand them in?

Or are people really that gullible?

The people being punished are the ones who already followed the law.

Date caveat: this count is based on publicly available NSW Police and media reports identified between the Bondi attack on 14 December 2025 and 4 June 2026. The true number may be higher, because not every shooting receives the same public reporting, and official BOCSAR crime data has not yet caught up beyond December 2025.
