In 2007 a group of local residents, businesses and sports people developed a plan to open a sailing facility using an old council owned sailing club building which needed refurbishment. A core committee of three loaned th

eir own funds and applied to Gold Coast City Council to lease the facility as the Paradise Point Sailing Club Inc. Given the major turnaround that the PPSC has achieved the council has awarded it with a 15 year lease. The committee believe that this facility would promote a healthy and active lifestyle by enabling families and interested groups to participate at an affordable cost. Also that it provided an important local amenity that is accessible to the public interested in sailing and marine safety. The new club opened in October 2008. It would continue to operate as a sail training facility to introduce children and families to experience, learn and compete in the sport of sailing. Company Overview
Paradise Point Sailing Club Inc. is a not for profit organisation whose main goals upon its inception in 2008 was to instigate a program of active participation in sailing for children and families. Its focus is the provision of amenities to promote the sport of sailing by conducting year-round junior and senior education and development. PPSC also operates a public accessible boat licensing and marine safety training facilities. The club operates from leased premises on the Paradise Point Esplanade adjacent the Ephraim Island bridge. The waters in the Broadwater adjacent Paradise Point are shallow protected waters ideal for dingy and skiff sailing. Marine safety designates our area as “smooth to partially smooth”, which offers the PPSC community the opportunity to host state or national events. General Information
We are a small club of sailing enthusiasts of all ages. All classes sail here. New members ages 6 to 106* of all sailing skill levels are welcome to join us. Gold Coast Broadwater just off Paradise Point Esplanade is our playground.

Ever wondered what it would be like to learn to sail on the beautiful Paradise Point Broadwater? 🌊⛵

At Paradise Point Sailing Club, Sunday Sailing is for everyone — from complete beginners finding their feet for the first time, through to juniors, youth and experienced sailors ready to race.

Our Sunday program includes:
⛵ Sunday Juniors | Ages 6–16
8:30–10:30am
$20 per person, or 5 lessons for $90
No membership required for beginners

⛵ Youth Green Fleet | Ages 9–12
10:30am–12:30pm
$12 own boat | $20 club boat
PPSC membership required

1:30–4:00pm

Yes, our kids learn how to sail.
But somewhere between rigging boats, launching off the beach, learning to read the wind and laughing with their mates, something much bigger happens.

They build confidence.
They learn independence.
They discover what they’re capable of.

And friendships form that have very little to do with who crossed the finish line first. 💙

At Paradise Point Sailing Club, we want our young sailors to have somewhere they feel they belong — a place to learn, challenge themselves, have a laugh and grow up surrounded by a great community.

Because sailing might be what brings them here…

⛵ OPTI-NAVIGATORS IS COMING TO PARADISE POINT! 🌊

What if your child could spend 10 Saturdays learning something completely new, building confidence, making friends and having an absolute ball on the Broadwater?
Opti-Navigators is Paradise Point Sailing Club’s new junior sailing program for kids aged 6–16 years, beginning Saturday 3 October. 💙

This isn't just about learning to sail.
It’s about giving kids the opportunity to:
⛵ Learn practical sailing & seamanship skills
💪 Build confidence and independence
🤝 Make new friends
🌊 Spend time outdoors and on the water
☀️ Have FUN, try new things and create some pretty amazing memories!
The program runs for 10 consecutive Saturdays from 3 October – 5 December, from 1:30pm–3:30pm.

10-week program:
⛵ $300 — BYO Opti
⛵ $450 — including use of a PPSC club Opti

And parents — your child doesn't need to own a boat to participate. PPSC has purchased 5 new Opti training boats specifically to help make this program accessible to more local families.

No previous sailing experience is necessary. Participants must be able to swim, and our experienced senior and youth instructors will guide them along the way.

⛵💙 FROM PPSC JUNIOR TO COACH OF THE YEAR FINALIST! 💙⛵

We could not be prouder to share some pretty special news from the Paradise Point Sailing Club family.

Our very own Charlie Bratton has been named a FINALIST for the 2026 Queensland Sailing Awards – Coach of the Year! 🏆⛵

And for us, this one means a little more than an award nomination.

Charlie has been part of Paradise Point Sailing Club since he was just 10 years old.
He grew up sailing here.
He learned here.
He became part of the PPSC family here.

And now, even as he sets sail into an exciting new career of his own, Charlie still gives up his time to come back and volunteer as a coach at the club every Sunday, helping the next generation of young sailors find their feet on the water. 💙

There is something incredibly special about watching one of your own juniors grow up and then turn around and give that knowledge, encouragement and experience straight back to the kids coming through behind them.

That is what grassroots sailing is all about.
It’s not simply teaching someone how to sail.
It’s creating a place where a 10-year-old can walk through the gates, discover something they love, grow in confidence and skill, and perhaps one day find themselves building an entire career around the sport.

Our Opti-Navigators Junior Sailing Program gives young sailors aged 6–16 years the opportunity to build confidence, learn essential sailing and seamanship skills, make new friends and experience the freedom and fun of being out on the Broadwater.
