Libby Woods is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most accomplished basketball technical officials and administrators. 

Her outstanding service includes 12 years as Chair of WA Basketball, 16 years leading the National Scorebench Committee, and more than two decades with the FIBA Technical Commission. She has officiated at World Championships, Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, and was inducted into the Basketball WA Hall of Fame in 2021 in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the sport.

Congratulations on being recognised at the highest level, being appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) - a fitting and well-deserved honour!

A 225km trip to Derby for Round 1 of the Term 2 Derby Basketball Association Junior and Senior Competitions, with 14 teams competing across all divisions.

Basketball WA staff were on hand to referee games and run score tables, while also meeting with local stakeholders ahead of upcoming FPP programs and planning for July’s Boab Festival.

A great day of basketball and community connection in the Kimberley.

Thank you to the WA Government’s Inclusive Participation Program Grant for making trips like this possible, allowing us to connect with indigenous youth across the state

IMPORTANT UPDATE - BENDAT BASKETBALL CENTRE

Effective immediately, Courts 1 and 2 at Bendat Basketball Centre will remain temporarily closed while remediation works are carried out.

Our team is actively supporting all affected bookings and working to find suitable alternative courts or venues wherever possible to minimise disruption.

We anticipate the works will be completed by the end of August 2026, with both courts returning to full operation at that time.
