STARplex Swim Club

STARplex Swim Club STARplex Swim Club is based in Gawler, South Australia. The club supports and encourages competitive swimming.

The STARplex Swim Club was formed in Sept 2000, affiliated with Swimming SA in April 2003 and in our short history we have enjoyed outstanding success at Club, State, SAPSASA and National level. STARplex Swim Club is committed to the ongoing aim of taking swimmers to the highest level, as well as providing an environment which encourages swimmers of all levels to continue their participation in th

e sport. The Club seeks to develop a strong and vibrant spirit in training, at meets and in the Clubโ€™s administration. An important element of this spirit is the relationship between the senior and junior swimmers, within the squads, as well as coaches, squad managers and parents, encouraging our swimmers to reach for and achieve their potential. STARplex Swim Club is building a tradition of achievement which we all want to see continue and thrive. Our aim is to encourage our athletes to achieve their goals in their chosen sport, and to provide a safe and supportive environment for them to develop their swimming skills and important life skills such as discipline, commitment and sound work ethic. The Club gives swimmers and their families the opportunity to interact with members of STARplex Swim Club and other Clubs (friendships formed are of great value) and the opportunity to be a part of a team, and also develop as individuals. In a relaxed and fun atmosphere, the swimmers progress through Club Time Trials, SwimmingSA Meets & Carnivals. The Club supports swimmers with Fundraising and Social events throughout the year and trips to meets within SA. At National Age in 2010, the club finished 2nd best in South Australia and since the clubs inception, 6 medals have been achieved at this level. For the last two years, STARplex has finished in the top 65 clubs in Australia at National Age level. We hope that any person who joins our Club can take part in all that the STARplex Swim Club has to offer and can be enriched by the growing history, knowledge and success that the Club has enjoyed since its inception.

โ€œI think you should always put yourself out there and have a go, because you never know what the future holds,โ€ she said. โ€œIt doesnโ€™t just happen overnight. It takes lots of smaller steps to get to the big goal and itโ€™s important that you stop and celebrate each step of the way. Donโ€™t give up.โ€

๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡Huge congratulations to Year 8 student Paige Duffy, who won multiple gold medals in the Girls MC 12โ€“13 Years category at the 2026 Australian MC Age Championships in Queensland, including gold in the 100m Breaststroke (setting a new South Australian record with a time of 1:26.40), 50m Butterfly, and 50m Breaststroke, as well as silver in the 200m IM.

With her sights set on the Australian Trials in June and the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games, Paige's dedication, hard work, and commitment to being her authentic self remind us that with belief and perseverance, anything is possible. We're so proud of you, Paige!

A big thank you to everyone who came to the STARplex Carnival yesterday and supported the club. We hope you had a great time! โญ๏ธ

Thank you to all our parents and members who helped out on the day and in the lead up. Thank you to the committee who makes events like this happen. And thank you to our National swimmers who volunteered their time to run the BBQ, amongst other jobs across the day. We could not do this without the help of volunteers across the club.

Thanks to the coaches who supported and guided our 62 swimmers through their races. And, thank you to senior swimmer James who did a great job in leading activation ๐Ÿ™

Thank you to our major sponsors; Frank Nesci Homes, Jordan Plumbing and Slape & Sons. We appreciate your support ๐Ÿ’›

And most of all, well done to all the swimmers who attended. Lots of PBs and new state times were achieved in our first short course meet of the season.

We will see you again in July for Starplex Carnival #2! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Read Peterโ€™s story, as he heads to Fiji in May to officiate internationally at the Oceania Champs. Peter started his journey as a swim parent at Starplex Swim Club, and found a love for officiating that has opened many doors for him.

Peter Ryan: The Person Behind the Whistle

Meet the official helping shape our sport from pool deck to international stage ๐ŸŒ

Recently selected to officiate at the Oceania Championships, Peter Ryanโ€™s journey is a reflection of dedication, curiosity, and a genuine passion for giving back to swimming.

Starting out like many volunteersโ€”simply by being askedโ€”Peter quickly found purpose in officiating. What began as a way to stay involved while his sons trained soon became a commitment to ensuring every meet is delivered safely, fairly, and to the highest standard.
