The second day of the Laser Standard (ILCA 7) Masters World Championship in Athens was not the sort of day that West Aussies are very familiar with. Light winds and a sloppy sea that don't match up to the healthy Fremantle Doctor and regular wave pattern we are used to.
In the Legends division Robo is being boringly consistent with two more second places, to maintain his second overall, though the good news is that in the second race of the day he beat the American who had won the first three races, so he is beatable.
Dave Whait, sailing in the Grand Masters fleet put a 5th and 19th on the scoreboard, and will be happy that the discard kicked in today so the 19th doesn't count. He is 9th overall and the top Aussie in the division.
Great Grand Master Andy Whittell's day wasn't as good as the first day, scoring 20th and 23rd, and able to discard the 23rd, so he is 18th overall.
Lets hope for some gutsier breezes tomorrow.
