Jessica January — Dr Jessica Said

Following the success of our EVA Advent Calendar, we’re delighted to continue celebrating our community with a monthly EVA Member of the Month — recognising the people who quietly do extraordinary work for horses and their owners every day.

For January, we are proud to recognise Dr Jessica Said.

Jessica is an equine veterinarian known for her warmth, approachability, and her truly amazing smile — the kind that instantly puts both clients and colleagues at ease. She is married to fellow equine veterinarian Joshua Berryman, and together they are navigating the busy (and joyful) season of life that comes with a young son.

A 2013 graduate of Charles Sturt University (Wagga Wagga), with double degrees in Veterinary Science and Veterinary Biology, Jessica has built a broad and impressive equine career. Her experience includes:
• Training in equine hospitals in Scotland and New Zealand
• Work in racing stables, breeding properties, and yearling preparation
• Roles in mixed animal practices and sole equine clinics across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria

More recently, Jessica has undertaken further training in equine dentistry and ultrasonography, continuing to refine her clinical skills.

Jessica currently works with South West Slopes Veterinary Services with husband Dr Josh Berryman and Dr Ken Jacobs and has also been closely associated with Twin Hills Stud — reflecting her versatility and trusted presence within the equine industry.

Jessica embodies the very best of EVA: kind, capable, quietly dedicated, and deeply connected to horses and the people who care for them.
