HI LEGENDS,

Good news everyone – Glenn has been released back into the wild and will once again be giving the orders this Saturday!

Saturday 6th June

🕛 12:00 PM – 600 Yard F-Class
🎯 Range Officer: Glenn

Dust off the rifles, check the ammo supply, and start practicing your excuses now:

"The wind changed."
"The mirage got me."
"The rifle wasn't happy today."
"I pulled that one."
"That wasn't my target..."

As always, fi****ms are to remain in vehicles until the command "Fi****ms to the Line" is given.

Weather permitting, there will be plenty of shooting, plenty of banter, and at least one shooter blaming the target system for a shot that was clearly in the next postcode.

See you all Saturday!

Today we honour the life of Gordon Gregory — a founding member of the Port Lincoln Pistol Club, a mentor to many, and a tireless advocate for the shooting sports he loved so deeply.

Gordon was one of the people who helped build the pistol club from the ground up. Through his dedication, knowledge, and commitment, he helped create not only a place for competition and training, but a strong community built on friendship, respect, and shared passion.

Over the years, Gordon gave generously of his time and experience to countless members. Many of us were welcomed, encouraged, and guided by him when we first joined the sport. I was one of those people. Twenty-seven years ago, when I joined the club, Gordon took the time to help me, support me, and make me feel part of the shooting community. That kindness and encouragement is something I have never forgotten.

He was respected not only for his skill and knowledge, but for the way he treated people. Gordon understood that clubs are built by volunteers, mentors, and those willing to stand beside others and help them improve. His influence will continue to be felt through the many shooters he encouraged over the years.

Gordon was also a strong advocate for the sport itself. He believed in responsible firearm ownership, good sportsmanship, and preserving the future of pistol shooting for the generations that follow. His voice, experience, and dedication carried great weight within the club and the wider shooting community.

On behalf of everyone whose lives he touched, we thank Gordon for his friendship, guidance, and years of service. He leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Gordon. Your contribution to this club and to the sport will always be remembered.

Fast shooting, ringing steel and enough noise to wake half the district. Bring plenty of ammo and your best John Wick impersonation — misses will absolutely be remembered and discussed for weeks.

HI GUYS & GIRLS,

This Saturday we’re stretching things out and heading way downrange for some long-distance fun!

📅 Saturday 23rd May
🕛 12:00 PM
🎯 500 Yard F-Class – Hosted by Paul

Once we’ve punched a few holes at distance and tested who actually knows how to read wind this week, we’ll roll straight into a 500 Yard Fly Shoot afterwards!

🐝 Hit the elusive fly and score yourself a badge for ultimate bragging rights! Not many can claim it… will your name be added to the legends list? 😎

So bring your best shooting, sharp eyes, steady nerves, and maybe a little luck. Whether you’re chasing tiny groups, trying to outshoot your mates, or just there for the banter and a good arvo at the range, come along and have a crack.

See you all Saturday! 🎯🔥

Hi legends,

Clear the calendar, tell the family you’ll be “busy doing important sporting activities” and get ready for another massive weekend at the club. We’ve got precision, speed, steel, noise, frustration, questionable wind calls and at least one bloke who swears his rifle “was shooting fine last week.”

There’s a bit of everything on this weekend, so whether you’re chasing tiny groups, ringing steel or just keen for a laugh and a snag between relays, come on down.

Saturday 16th May
10:00am – 200 Yard Rimfire Fly – Kris

The legendary Fly Shoot returns! Tiny targets, big egos and enough concentration to make your head hurt. For those who haven’t shot one before, the goal is simple — hit the tiny fly at 200 yards and earn yourself a badge and eternal bragging rights in the clubhouse.

Hit the fly to win a badge!

Of course, what actually happens is:

Someone blames the wind.
Someone blames the ammo.
Someone blames their scope.
Someone insists “that definitely touched the wing.”
And one bloke somehow shoots the wrong target entirely.

Bring your best rimfire setup and see if your nerves are steadier than your mates standing behind you giving “helpful” advice.

12:30pm – PRS Rimfire – Damien & Quentin

After lunch we kick straight into PRS Rimfire, where comfort and dignity are left in the car park.

Expect barricades, awkward shooting positions, timed stages and plenty of panic-reloading while trying not to fall off props. It’s precision shooting mixed with mild cardio and public humiliation.

There will be:

Steel ringing.
Magazines dropped in the dirt.
Dubious stage plans.
“I thought I had one more round” moments.
And at least one shooter who spends more time adjusting gear than actually shooting.

If you’ve never tried PRS before, don’t stress — it’s one of the best disciplines for learning practical shooting skills and having a laugh while doing it.

Sunday 17th May
10:00am – Steel Challenge Handgun – Kristian & Damien

Sunday morning we swap precision for pure speed with Steel Challenge Handgun.

Fast draws, fast transitions and enough flying brass to qualify as light rainfall. The goal is simple: hit the plates as quickly as possible while trying not to completely forget the stage plan halfway through your run.

You’ll hear:

Timers beeping.
Steel clanging.
Competitive trash talk.
And someone yelling “ONE MORE PLATE!” from the sidelines.

Whether you’re a seasoned handgun shooter or just keen to give it a crack, it’s always a great morning with plenty of action and laughs.

As always, new shooters and spectators are more than welcome, so bring a mate along, grab a coffee and enjoy the chaos.

After lunch, we kick straight into PRS Rimfire, where comfort and dignity are left in the car park.

Hi legends,

This weekend we kick things off on Saturday the 9th of May with a cracking afternoon on the range:

12:00pm – 300 Yard F-Class – hosted by Paul

Time to dust off the precision rigs, argue over wind calls, and pretend that last flyer was “definitely the ammo.” Whether you’re chasing tiny groups or just looking for a good afternoon on the range with a few laughs, come along and have a go.

As always, spectators and newcomers are welcome, so if you’ve been curious about F-Class shooting this is a great chance to come down, see what it’s all about, and watch grown adults become emotionally invested in holes punched through paper at 300 yards.

Weather’s looking good, the kettle will likely get a workout, and there’s a fair chance someone will blame the wind for absolutely everything.

See you all there!

29/04/2026

Hi Legends, this weekend’s program is locked in and shaping up to be a cracker:

Saturday 2nd May
12:30pm – 100-300Y Field & Rimfire Precision
– Damien

We’ll be stretching things out from 100 to 300 yards with a mix of field shooting and rimfire precision. Expect tiny targets, questionable wind calls, and at least one person confidently blaming “the mirage” for absolutely everything. Bring your rimfires, your dope charts, and your best excuse for missing a shot the size of a dinner plate.

Then on Sunday we swap precision for pure noise and chaos:

Sunday 3rd May
12:00pm – Steel Challenge Handgun / Shotgun
– Damien

Fast shooting, flying steel, empty pockets, and the occasional reminder that reloading while excited is a learned skill. If you’ve never heard the sweet sound of someone missing an entire plate rack at point-blank range while the crowd provides emotional support through laughter… this is your chance.

As always:
• New shooters are welcome
• Bring hearing protection
• Bring plenty of ammo
• Bring your sense of humour
• Leave your “I definitely cleaned this gun last week” confidence at home

See you all on the range for another top weekend at the club!

22/04/2026

This weekend's lineup is looking great, with Saturday 25th April at 12:00 PM hosting a 1000 Yard F Class event, which will be led by Paul.
