Race day at mackay all done and dusted

Riley had a small field of 3 cadet 9s

Heat 1 started 3rd finish 2nd
Heat 2 started 1st finish 3rd
Heat 3 started 3rd finish 2nd
Final started 2nd finish 2nd

Shelby had 12 in her class KA100 jnr
The day didnt start off good bending the axle in practice. We were ready to pack it up for the day but big thanks to Blair Takagaki for getting the axle straight, good as new

Heat 1 - started 1 finished 1 - getting her first heat wins in jrs
Heat 2 started 11th finished 8th
Heat 3 started 5th but DNF as dad didnt tune it right and had nothing he should have left it
Final started 10th and finish 7th still didnt have the tune right.

Overall it was a good day. Every meeting we are learning more and more.

Next meeting is Bundaberg shakedown riley in cadet 9 and shelby back in cadet 12s

We have decided to have a run at our home track this weekend. Riley has 5 so far and shelby having a run in jrs again 10 so far

AKC Round 2 at Ipswich was a tough one. Drop-down bumper penalties in the heats set us back, and we just couldn't find our usual momentum for the rest of the weekend.

Sometimes racing doesn't go the way you hope, but weekends like this only make you stronger. We will sit down as a team, regroup, and work out exactly where we can improve.

Eyes forward to Round 3 at Townsville this July! ️

Shelby is cadet 12s. Her practice groups are 1, 2, 4 and 5 on friday but that will only be on speedhive. Or in person at the track 😉
Will update after qualifying what heat group she is in.
Anyone in the SE corner should come for a look. It's a cool experience 😎 and there's plenty of awesome food vendors including McCracklins On Tour and Tasty East 2021

Australian Kart Championship. Round 2. IPSWICH KART CLUB

Shelby is gearing up to race 59 other cadet 12s this weekend for round 2 of the AKC.

Official practice is Friday with heats and final Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free or catch some of the action live on 7plus.

After 6 months not racing at our home track we ran round 4 of the mackay championship. We went into the meeting to have fun and to cut some laps

Riley had a small class of 4
Heat 1 started 3rd finish 1st
Heat 2 started 2nd finish 1st
Heat 3 started 1st finish 2nd
Final started 2nd finish 2nd
Riley did an awesome job, got some PBs and pushed hard all day. Hopefully he will got some confidence back after today.

Shelby jumped in the KA3 Jnr class and had 10 in her class
Heat 1 started 2nd finished 4th after she got caught up in a crash, was last after driving back to 4th
Heat 2 started 8th finished 2nd
Heat 3 started 3rd finished 3rd
Final started 3rd finished 2nd Shelby started to struggle at the end of the race with sore arms, wheeling the kart around that weighs more than triple her body weight.
We didnt know how she would go, just went for some laps and thought we would be running mid pack but Shelby drove her ass off and showed she can mix it with them.
