Australian Kart Championships
Round 4 - Puckapunyal

Not even close to the Townsville winter weather!

Friday was dry with both boys finding their feet early
Saturday qualifying, the rain came 😬

Brock - Cadet 12 - 52 Drivers
Qualifying - ☔️ 1st in Even Group 5/52 overall
Heat 1 - ☔️ 1st - Fastest on track 🟣
Heat 2 - ☔️2nd - Promoted to 1st Fastest on track 🟣
Heat 3 - ☀️5th - Dropped to 7th after a dropdown penalty
Heat 4 - 1st, unfortunately a stop button infringement saw Brock disqualified from this heat

Disappointing YES but he reset for the final

Final - starting out of 11th it was going to be tough to move through the front runners. Final lap saw him cross the line in a tight train across the line - 6th Fastest on track 🟣

Brock was focused and showed awesome pace all weekend in both the wet and dry, we only take the positives out of this round
Championship standing - tied for 3rd

Huge congratulations to Rossi Yau for the round win and Alana Gurney and Milan for their podium

Luke - KA2 - 26 Drivers

Luke had consistent top 5 pace throughout the practice sessions on Friday, just didn’t find it in the wet Saturday morning for qualifying

Qualifying - 15th
Heat 1 - ☔️ 8th - great drive through the pack - dropped to 10th after dropdown penalty
Heat 2 - ☔️ DNF
Heat 3 - ☀️DNF
Heat 4 - 16th
Final - 15th
Frustrating weekend for Luke with the pace but not the track position

Championship standing 13th

Queensland Kart Championships
Bundaberg

New track!

Brock - Cadet 12 - 35 Drivers
Qualifying - 12th
Heat 1 - 4th
Heat 2 - 4th
Heat 3 - 1st
Heat 4 - 1st
Final - 1st 🥇

Brock was hot out the gate for practice on Friday but couldn’t get a lap in for qualifying putting him out of the top 10 with a mountain of work to do!

He drove smart over the heats, after being pushed to position 12 in heat 2 he drove through the field to finish 4th followed by 2 heat wins

Starting P3 for the final finally saw an inside advantage off the start

Taking the lead on lap 9 Brock held his cool for 11 laps ultimately taking the win 🥇
Congratulations to Rossi and Luke on their podium finishes, it was great racing you guys!

Luke - KA2 - 12 Drivers

Qualifying - 7th
Heat 1 - 7th
Heat 2 - 7th
Heat 3 - 8th
Heat 4 - 6th
Final - 7th

We just didn’t get things right for Luke (dad needs to put on his glasses more 😬) but he drove his butt off to hold his position throughout the weekend
We will push hard to get this right!

Being on our home track made this one a pressure cooker!

The racing and weather was hot 🔥

Brock - Cadet 12 - 42 Drivers
Qualifying - 5th
Heat 1 - 1st
Heat 2 - 2nd
Heat 3 - 2nd
Heat 4 - 4th
Final - 1st 🥇

Starting out of 2 for the final saw Brock out wide into turn 1 dropping back to 5th
He didn’t panic, moving through the field, holding the lead for 7 laps, fastest on track and ultimately taking the win

Calm under pressure (not like the rest of us watching 🤪)
Won’t forget this one!

Luke - KA2 - 23 Drivers

Qualifying - 11th
Heat 1 - 11th - dropdown applied 13th
Heat 2 - 5th
Heat 3 - 9th - dropdown applied 13th
Heat 4 - 5th
Final - 4th

Luke had the speed unfortunately Qualifying mid pack is never ideal and the drop downs added to the pain

Luke never gave up and only missed the podium by one tenth of a second!

Proud of how Luke pushed himself all weekend and the final was a ripper!
