🌹We cannot let the day pass without wishing a very 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓'𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒚 to the mums and mother figures within our Scout group.🌹

From the weekly planning, organising, and running of activities, to the dropping off and picking up, to the events, the sewing, the fundraisers.. thank you!! We appreciate you so much and literally couldn’t do it without you all!

And to all the mothers in our wider community, we hope you’ve felt as loved today as the love you pour out every day!! 💐

Our clever Scouts have put up a dining fly 👏🏼

And we have QUOITS, HOPSCOTCH and BEANBAG TOSS on their way, for all to play.

🌅 𝒜𝒩𝒵𝒜𝒞 𝒹𝒶𝓎 2026 🌅

These young people woke up early for ANZAC day and represented our scout group with pride at the Dawn Service, Sacred Heart Parish mass, Street Parade and Citizens Service.

They took the time out of their morning to honour, and be a part of, something bigger than themselves; to lay handmade wreaths and pay their respects.

They were in awe of the 9 ADF soldiers from Amberley who joined the Childers services and handed them cards and decorated biscuits at the conclusion of the services.

Our committee and family members raised funds for our group on the BBQ at the RSL, donated by the Facebook.com/isis.rsl.sub.branch.inc . We are ever so grateful for their support of our group and the partnership we have.

👋🏼 🌭 Come say hello to our incredible Scout helpers taking on the RSL BBQ tomorrow doing their bit for ANZAC day and our Scout Group.

This week at Childers Scouts we have been discussing ANZAC day; what it means and working on ways to commemorate the soldiers past and present.

Our Joey Scouts decorated cookies to give to the soldiers and lanterns for Dawn service.

Our Cubs worked on wreaths to lay at the services tomorrow and our Scouts are camping out ready to attend Dawn Service together.

ANZAC day in our community has become a really special part of our Scout year.

🌟And that is a wrap on Cuboree 2026!!🌟

Thursday morning 3 Childers cubs & 1 Venturer headed off with a few leaders to embark on the 8th QLD Cuboree at BP park in Samford.

The 4.5 hour bus trip was bubbling with excited anticipation and what we were met with was an incredible experience and opportunity for growth.

Over 3 big days the youth participated in countless activity bases such as abseiling, archery, survival skills, water play, colour run, cycling, pioneering an offsite day to Brownsea and much much more

We are incredibly proud of the resilience, determination and independence shown by the Childers cubs on this 4 night camp.

A huge BRAVO to our cubs and the other 800+ cubs that attended Cuboree Shake It Up!!

And another great big thank you to our fabulous community that supported our fundraisers and helped to get our youth there!!

📣 THEFT.. Community eyes needed!! 👀

Over the past week or two we have become aware that some items have been stolen out of our locked shed.
The items we are missing are:
• Two brand new swags
• Two brand new tents and
• Two patrol boxes (full of camp preparation & cooking items).

We have nearby neighbours and police doing their part but if any members of our community know anything or have any more information please contact us or the local police station.

♻️ Last Sunday, as part of an Environmental Special Interest Area, the Childers Scout Group (made up of Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Adult Leaders and helpers) partook in Cleanup Australia Day. ♻️

We cleaned up along the shoreline and walkway of Woodgate, starting at Second Avenue up to Theodolite Creek.

We were able to clean up three and a half bags of rubbish including cigarette butts, broken plastic, paper and other odds and ends.
In the end, we helped cleanup up 6km of coastline in both directions.

📣 Friends in our community 🧱
If anyone out there has extra Woolworths ‘Bricks’ or is willing to collect some for us in their regular shops for the next little while we’d be so grateful. We’d also happily receive any type of Lego that’s going.
These can be used in team building challenges aswell as just free time creativity.

🎄🎅🏼 One last good turn to finish off 2025!

This morning our Joey scouts stepped into the community once more with a visit to Forest View Aged care.

They made and gifted some beautiful Christmas cards & crafts, played games, told jokes and just chatted away so wonderfully.

BRAVO Joey scouts - your simple visit, fun loving energy and willingness to connect brightened someone else’s day today.

Our Cuboree fundraising continues with a family fun night at the Carols🎄🤗
