🐻 𝑾𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒕 🐻

Today our Joey Scouts stepped out into Russo Nature Park for a bear hunt. We read and then re-enacted the book any chance we got.

There was everything from thick oozy mud, to river crossings (lucky for us we could go over it), hollow log ‘caves’, few stumble trips, 15 bears, and lots of fun.

We practiced plotting on maps and using the coordinates to share where the bears were found.

I’m sure there will be a few bear hunters sleeping soundly tonight. ☺️

🎢 Childers Show 🎡

Not only did we have our own Scout section display in the pavilion, with a very cool campsite made by the cubs, but this year our Joey scouts also entered a decorated biscuit each and a plate of scones into the junior baking category.
And the results were:

🥇1st place to Amelia, Teddy and Gabi for their fabulous biscuits.
🥈And a 2nd place for the Joeys scones.

BRAVO to everyone who contributed to this community event. 👏🏼

A great big shout out this week to all the incredible volunteers we have within Childers Scouts. You guys are the BEST!!

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Scouts Australia.
Our programs would not be possible without the dedication, passion and generosity of volunteers who give their time to support young people across the country.

🌹We cannot let the day pass without wishing a very 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑴𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓'𝒔 𝑫𝒂𝒚 to the mums and mother figures within our Scout group.🌹

From the weekly planning, organising, and running of activities, to the dropping off and picking up, to the events, the sewing, the fundraisers.. thank you!! We appreciate you so much and literally couldn’t do it without you all!
