Cessnock Minor Rugby League extends its sincere appreciation to Jamie Perrin for his long‑standing and dedicated service as President. Jamie’s commitment, leadership, and unwavering support have shaped the strength & stability of our Club, and we thank him for the many years he has invested into our community. His genuine care for our players, families, and volunteers has left a lasting legacy.

CMRL is excited to welcome Dan Ebert as our incoming President.
Dan is no stranger to rugby league, with over 15 years of refereeing experience across Group 10, Group 11 and Newcastle, along with 6 years as NSWRL Director of Referees for Junior Football in Newcastle. His background includes serving as a Referees Association board member for 3 years, and multiple awards including 2025 Second Division Referee of the Year and earning Touch Judge of the Year in 2016. Dan has also served as a referee mentor, referees coach, and NSWRL interchange official, and is currently on the judiciary panel.
Beyond officiating, Dan has coached school rugby league teams for over 20 years and previously coached the Doonside Roos in the Penrith district. Having lived in Cessnock for the past 12 years, Dan brings both a deep experience and a genuine connection to our community and its young players.

We thank Jamie for his exceptional service and warmly welcome Dan as he steps into this important leadership role.

📢 Competition Update – Round 5 Postponed

Due to the significant rainfall received over the past week, a decision has been made to postpone Round 5 to Sunday, 5 July.

As a result, no matches will be played this weekend.

Please also note that existing Round 3 and Round 4 catch-up fixtures will be rescheduled accordingly. Updated draw information will be published online within the next 24 hours.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation as we prioritise player safety and field conditions.

📌Unfortunately the weather has won this weekend

CMRL would like to advise that all games at MT View Park (Basin) for Round 5, have been officially washed out for Saturday 30th May.

We know how disappointing this is for our players, families, volunteers and supporters, but player safety and protecting our grounds always comes first.

These games will be played at a later date, with updates to be shared as soon as information becomes available.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and patience, stay safe.
