SOS - Salsa on Saturday To provide a monthly social dance event which provides exclusively Salsa/Mambo, Cha & Bachata music. In 2016 Juan Pablo Blanc (JP) also joined the team.

SOS - Salsa on Saturday aims to bring a once a month (or thereabouts) weekend (Saturday night) social dance event to the Canberra region specifically for lovers of Salsa/Mambo and Chachahca and a little bachata. We aim to fill the gap when there are no weekend places to dance. The event was concieved and begun in 2014 by James Gallagher and Rhonda King two long time Canberra Salsa dancers/instruct

ors and performers. SOS came out of hiatus in March 2023 and now again offers a once a month social night with more local dancers on board the organising team. Our emphasis on the tunes for our monthly parties is on classic and new salsa and mambo rhythms with a sprinkling of chachahca and bachata. If you dance On1 or On2 salsa you will be safe! We dance at a few different venues around Canberra, so keep a watch on the event invitations for information on the latest. The event is not affiliated with any one studio in Canberra. We invite you come and meet fellow Canberra dancers from in and out of town and support this initiative to nurture and grow salsa dancing in Canberra.
