There’s something special about the bond between a young footballer and a ball.

Before the trophies, before the teams, before the big games — it starts with a child and a football.

Hours spent dribbling in the backyard, kicking against a wall, carrying it everywhere they go. No pressure. No expectations. Just pure joy.

That love is where every football journey begins.

As coaches and parents, our job is to protect that passion, nurture it, and let kids fall in love with the game at their own pace.

Round 5 delivered a BIG one. 🔥⚽️

Coach Max BLACK 🆚 Coach Max YELLOW — two teams going at it, but most importantly, two teams wanting to PLAY football.

Quality on the ball. Confidence in possession. Great movement, combinations and plenty of personality from these young players. 👏

Games like this are exactly what the EJL is about — creating an environment where young footballers are challenged to compete, express themselves and play quality football.

Young footballers with big dreams, a love for the game and so much ahead of them.

At this age, football should be simple.

Support them. Encourage them. Believe in them. Let them make mistakes. Let them learn.

Most importantly…

LET THEM PLAY. ❤️⚽️

No pressure from the sidelines. No expectations beyond their years. Just kids enjoying the beautiful game, building confidence, friendships and memories along the way.

They are the future of our game.

Football gives kids so much more than a game. ⚽️❤️

At a young age, they might think it’s all about scoring goals, winning games and getting better with the ball.

But along the way, something much bigger is happening.

They’re building connections. Sharing wins and losses. Travelling together. Training together. Laughing together. Learning to trust and support each other.

Teammates become friends.
And sometimes, those friendships last a lifetime.

Years from now, they might not remember every score or every goal…

But they’ll remember the people they shared the journey with. 🤝⚽️

That’s the beauty of football. The game ends. The connections don’t.
