Saturday saw our beginner dogs strutting their stuff in the racing environment and gaining some valuable exposure.
Sunday we competed at Bayside’s Bayside Goes Undercover competition. Thank you to all who were involved in organising the event and to all the officials for your time and effort.

Paws of Chaos were off to a whirlwind start, winning their first 3 races for Kolby’s final race meet. Unfortunately, we blitzed through the next race doing a major breakout time! Whoops! We are sad to see Kolby, Pauline and Rob retire from flyball but hope to see them around. Best time 24.317 with 74% clean heats.

Paws of Power came out guns a blazing and did a major break out in their very first heat. Oh dear. Unfortunately this team then struggled to run clean for the rest of the day, one could say the wheels fell off! We welcomed back Xena after a few months and it was really great to see Venus race again. Best time 23.401.

Paws of Fire came home with 1st place in Div 2 winning 4/6 races and running clean 73% of the time. This team worked really well together and was really lovely to watch. Congratulations to Storm on your PB time. Best time 19.522

Paws of Lightning came 1st in Div 1 on a count back after some tight racing. Winning 4/6 races with 78% clean heats. Best time of 17.4

Tomorrow we say farewell to Kolby in the racing lanes after he competes in his very last race meet. Kolby has been a wonderful addition to our club. He may not be the fastest dog, he averages 9 seconds, but he certainly is one of our most reliable dogs. We will miss him dearly. We wish Kolby a wonderful long retirement he’s earned it!

On Sunday we competed at Flyball on the Field at Rocklea and it ended up being a beautiful day. Thank you to Flyball Fanatics for hosting the comp and training day and to all the officials involved.
Paws of Lightning 1st Div 1 winning 5/6 races. Best time 17.407 Clover, Stella, Nala & Bandit.
Paws of Fire 1st Div 2 winning 5/6 races. Best time 20.404 Peanut, River, Storm & Izzy.
Paws of Thunder 4th in Div 2. This team had a few whoopsies but when they got it together raced beautifully as a team. Best time 24.247 Harper, Judge, Maggie & George.
Paws of Chaos had one heat where the stars all aligned and they broke out of Div 3. Best time 25.776 Harvey, Mishka, Indi & Russell.
Congratulations to Maggie who is now a Flyball Master Champion, Storm an Australian Flyball Champion and Harper is now a Flyball Dog Champion.

We are headed to the Croation Club Rocklea on Sunday to compete at Flyball on the Field hosted by Flyball Fanatics. Racing starts 8:30am come and check it out! Our learner dogs will also get some valuable exposure at the training day on Monday!

On Sunday we hosted our Awesome April Antics competition at the Wacol RSPCA Flyball Arena.

Paws of Lightning attempted to finish strong for Brandy’s last comp of her career but it was not our day. A tough div with many errors landed us in 3rd place of Div 1. Brandy has been this team’s start dog for her whole career and we will miss her fiercely. Best time 17.373 Wilbur, Stella, Nala and Bandit.

Paws of Fire powered through winning 4/6 races coming in 2nd place in Div 2. This team has worked well together for nearly 2 years now and have given Nixon a great last comp before he retired after a massively successful career. Best time 20.028 Clover, Peanut, Georgie and Nixon.

Paws of Thunder gave 100% but unfortunately it wasn’t their day. They finished strong though, winning the last two races of the day and coming in 2nd place Div 3. George has definitely come back to racing, pulling out a PB and Dennis becoming a Flyball Dog Excellent! Best time 23.544 Harper, Nola, Maggie and George.

Paws of Chaos started out strong, running clean and winning the first two races, but then the wheels fell off. Although the team came 3rd in Div 4, there were a few personal wins. Russell has finally got his confidence back and only had a minor stumble. Congratulations to Whisky on your milestone Flyball Master Excellent and Marlee on becoming a Flyball Dog Excellent. Best time 26.701 Indi, Whisky, Russell and Mishka.

Team Thunderstruck fought hard for 2nd place in Open winning 4/6 races. Running clean for most of the day, not counting the last race of course haha. We briefly say goodbye to Mildred as Jacinta and Abbie are expecting our next AP junior handler! Congratulations! Storm also pulled a PB. Best time 19.449 Millie, River, Storm and Izzy.

We also officially farewelled our resident Dobey Zephyr from flyball. Although he hasn’t raced for over 12 months we still cherish his visits for pats and to see that sweet smile.

Congratulations to Holly from Supersonics Flyball Racing for your 000 start and to All Paws Airborne Flyball Club Airborne Growlers for taking out the cleanest sheet for the day with a whopping success rate of 91.6%.

Thank you to all the officials and our members who gave up their time to make this event happen. We appreciate you!
