Day 2 of the Italian Finn Championship in Cannigione delivered medium breeze and another three races, giving the fleet a full day of competitive sailing.

After six races, Alessandro Marega continues to lead the championship, with Christoph Burger moving into second place and Roberto Strappati sitting third overall.
With one day of racing still to come and lighter conditions expected, everything remains open heading into the final showdown🇮🇹

About to start the second event of the World Tour for Finns Grand Slam series in Cannigione, at the Italian Championship🇮🇹.

A fleet of 50 boats will be on the starting line, and the forecast looks great with promising conditions expected over the next three days.

The Finn Class has always embraced innovation where it improves the quality, fairness and integrity of our racing, while preserving the essential character of the boat and the sailor-driven nature of competition that defines Finn sailing.

The advent of GPS devices and race management technologies is a hot topic and as part of a broader discussion, the class has been investigating whether these may assist in maintaining and potentially improving the integrity, fairness and consistency of racing at Finn events.

From May 30th to June 1st, the Italian Championship will take place in Cannigione, Sardinia 🇮🇹

The event will also be valid as the second leg of the Finns Grand Slam World Tour, bringing top-level competition to one of the most spectacular sailing venues in the Mediterranean⛵️
