What an unforgettable weekend with the ultra crew! 🤩⭐️🫁🫀💪🏻🧠🏆
Each one of us set a goal—whether as part of a team or as an individual—and every single person achieved exactly what they set out to do. 😮💨
It all kicked off early Saturday, with the incredible 80km crew setting off at 6:15am. Many were still powering on well after sunset. Can you imagine running from sunrise through to darkness? Neither can I! These athletes are something else. Completing this kind of distance demands strong legs, powerful lungs and heart—but above all, it takes extraordinary mental strength and relentless determination.
Those who completed the full 80km solo are not only remarkable athletes, but they’re also high achievers in life. Their commitment, discipline, and ability to overcome adversity is genuinely inspiring—not just in sport, but in everything they do. We are beyond proud of you all. Massive congratulations to:

Of course, none of this would be possible without the support crew. A huge thank you to and for being there at every checkpoint to refuel, encourage, and provide the essentials. Your contribution is invaluable—what you did made the difference 🫡🙏
Our team— , , Dave, and myself () tackled the course as a team of five. Trust me, this was a smart move! 💯🤣 Even so, it was still incredibly tough. I’m still feeling it today, so I can only imagine how the 80km runners and marathoners are doing. The support and camaraderie from everyone made it a brilliant experience. We’d love to see even more teams join next year! 🤔🙌🏾
On Sunday, it was time for our marathon crew to shine—and they certainly did. Seasoned ultra-marathoners were all saying how challenging this course was, and yet everyone rose to the occasion. Huge congratulations to Anita, Pauline, and Cass for crossing the finish line. While Anita and Pauline have completed marathons before, trail running is a whole new challenge—and they absolutely nailed it. And as for Cass—her first marathon was this one. Straight in at the deep end! Whoever suggested this was probably not your friend, Cass❓🤣 But you smashed it, and we’re so proud of all of you. It’s also been wonderful to see the genuine friendships that have grown through training and race day itself.
True friendship involves blood, sweat, tears—and a whole lot of laughs. And that’s exactly what we witnessed throughout this journey 🤝🫶
And last—but by no means least—Shontelle. Wow. She completed the 80km on Saturday and then came back to run the marathon on Sunday, finishing as first female overall 🥇🏆. Truly unbelievable. The training, discipline, and mindset required for something like this is beyond words. No matter how well prepared you are, nothing fully prepares you for what Shontelle achieved. It was a privilege to witness it, and the joy from the whole crew cheering her on was unforgettable 🍻🥿💪🏻
It was also heartwarming to see so many families out there supporting our runners. I’m sure they’re all incredibly proud—and no doubt inspired to maybe take on a challenge of their own one day 😎
Thanks again for an amazing weekend. Wishing everyone a well-deserved rest and a fantastic week ahead 🙌🏾
