We’re looking for new team members to join us at the Longreach Aquatic Centre:

💙 Lifeguard / Kiosk Team Member – 18+ years
Part-time or casual position available

💙 Junior Lifeguard / Kiosk Team Member
Casual position available

💙 Swim Teacher
Casual position available

Due to winter hours, shifts will be limited until September. ❄️ We’re simply getting a head start on training and orientation as we prepare for our busy summer season ahead! ☀️🏊‍♂️ Full-time hours may be available from September as the weather warms up and programs expand.

No experience? No worries! 🙌

We’ll be open our normal public holiday trading hours:

🕙 10:00am – 4:00pm

💙🏊‍♀️ From Alpha Learn to Swim to Australian Country Champion! 🏆✨

A huge congratulations to Lucy, a former ALTS swimmer from Alpha, who has helped Queensland become Australian Country Champions — two years in a row! 👏💪

Lucy was once one of our little Learn to Swim swimmers here in Alpha, starting her swimming journey during her primary school years before progressing through squads and continuing to chase bigger goals in the pool.

Stories like Lucy’s are exactly why we do what we do. Rural kids deserve every opportunity to learn, grow, compete and shine — and Lucy is such a wonderful example of where those early lessons, squad sessions, hard work and determination can lead. 🌟

We are so proud to have been a small part of your swimming journey, Lucy. Congratulations on making the Queensland Country team and on this fantastic achievement. Your ALTS family is cheering you on all the way! 💙

In honour of ANZAC Day, both Alpha Pool and Longreach Aquatic Centre will be closed this ANZAC Day.

This allows our staff and community the opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of our fallen heroes and all who have served.

The Jericho Pool is now officially closed for the season.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing Jericho community for another fantastic season of swimming, laughs, fitness, family fun, and great memories. We are so grateful for the support of our loyal patrons, families, and visitors who made the season so special. 💙

A special shoutout to our wonderful staff who worked tirelessly all season to keep the pool safe, welcoming, and running smoothly — we appreciate everything you do! 👏

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back when we re-open for the summer season in September ☀️🏊‍♂️

Due to lightning and storm activity in the area, the Longreach Aquatic Centre will be CLOSED for the remainder of today (20th April) for safety.

❌ All lessons are cancelled this afternoon.

We’ll reopen tomorrow as usual.
