The road to the Australian Rugby Shield continues for our NT Mozzies U21 Colts!

Before the squad heads to Geelong to compete from 8–11 October, they’re heading to Katherine for an important hit-out against the Central Barbarians Rugby-Alice Springs another chance to build combinations, get some quality game time and continue preparations for the Shield.

But this one is about more than just the game it’s about bringing rugby union to Katherine!

Come on down, Katherine! Bring the kids, bring your mates and get around rugby in your own backyard.

Kids aged 6–16 can come early and GIVE RUGBY A GO from 12pm–1:30pm. No experience needed — whether they already love their rugby or have never picked up a ball, everyone is welcome!

🏉 Top Try Scorer for the Central Barbarians during our first-ever appearance at the Darwin 7s in January.

🏆 Top Try Scorer during the 2026 Desert Shield Invitational Series.

⚡ A lightning-fast Halfback who can also dominate at Fullback and comfortably fit into almost any position across the backline. His versatility, speed, vision and ability to find the try line make him a valuable player wherever he steps onto the field!

Central Barbarians Rugby – Alice Springs would like to proudly congratulate Tyrone Sam Leiataua on securing a Rugby Union contract in the United Kingdom! 🇬🇧🔥

This is more than just a contract — it is the beginning of another chapter in a journey built through hard work, commitment and belief.

Tyrone proudly represented the Central Barbarians 7s Team at the Hottest 7s in the World – Darwin, January 2026.

He then went on to Vice-Captain the first-ever Central Barbarians XV team, helping lead the team to success in the Desert Shield 2026 Series. 🛡️🏆

And if you’ve watched Tyrone play, you already know… he is a TRY-SCORING MACHINE! 💨🔥🏉

But beyond his ability on the field, Tyrone has always shown a humble personality, respect for others and a willingness to keep learning and improving. That is what makes this achievement even more special.

What a tough but very good start to Rugby Training tonight! 💪🏉

It’s been a long time since the boys were all together, but tonight was about getting back to work, building fitness, rebuilding combinations, and preparing for what’s ahead.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who made the effort to come down tonight. Your commitment, effort and willingness to push through the tough sessions is what makes a team stronger. 👊🔥

And a special thank you to Coach Sir and his assistant for putting the boys through a solid session and getting us back on track. 🙏🏉

The road ahead won’t be easy — but nothing worth achieving ever is.

Congratulations to Atunaisa Ratu, the talented Yulara XV First Five-Eighth, on being recognised as the Top Points Scorer of the Desert Shield Invitational Series! 🎯🔥

Atunaisa is a quality player and a very good kicker, playing an important role for Yulara XV throughout the series.

We are proud to announce that his trophy has now been presented to him here in Lautoka, Fiji 🇫🇯.

A special effort by the Central Barbarians management to make sure the trophy travelled all the way to Fiji and reached its rightful recipient. 🏆❤️
