Coming up today from the ISSF Pistol/Rifle/Shotgun Junior World Championships in Suhl, Germany...

It's day one of competition at the Junior World Championships and Australia's Tanvi Lathwal will take to the 10m range for the Women's Air Pistol event.

Qualification will commence at 5:15pm AEST (9:15am local time) with the top 8 qualifiers progressing through to the final that is scheduled for 10:00pm AEST (2:00pm local time).

There are 808 athletes entered in this Junior World Championships across 1,537 starts and representing 66 countires. This event represents one of the largets junior shooting sport competitions in the world.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program.

This exciting opportunity offers Australian junior athletes (aged 15 -21), a chance to accelerate their success and build experience by providing them access to financial assistance and expert guidance from Australian sporting legends.

Australian Junior Men’s Trap athlete, Lucas Furlan, was selected as a part of the 2026 scholarship program and was the seventh target shooting Athlete since 2012 to be awarded this scholarship.

2026 ISSF World Cup Shotgun - Lonato, Italy 3-13 July

15 Shotgun Athletes have been selected in accordance with the selection criteria to compete in the ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Lonato, Italy.

The Shotgun Athletes who have accepted their positions will soon commence their departures ahead of the 3-13 July competition schedule.

We congratulations the Athletes on their selection and wish them well during their final stages of preparation.

Today it was Day 2 of qualification for Trap followed by the very hotly contested Women’s and Men’s Finals with the gold and silver medals in both finals decided by sudden death shoot offs!
