The Adelaide Spectres LGBTIQ+ Basketball Club provides fun basketball for members of the community. We look forward to hearing and meeting with you all.

The Adelaide Spectres LGBTIQ+ Basketball Club provides all members of the community, regardless of age, skill level or sexual orientation, with a supportive and socially inclusive environment to participate as part of an LGBTIQ+ friendly basketball club. The club caters for individuals of all ages and skill levels with opportunities to develop their athletic ability, compete as part of a team, and

socialise with like-minded individuals, that have a passion for basketball and commitment to the club’s core principles of social inclusion and improved fitness and skill levels. General Information

The first Spectres gay and le***an basketball club was founded under the banner of Sydney Spectres in 2001 with the first team participating in the 2002 Sydney Gay Games, The Spectres have grown into a respected LGBTIQ+ sporting organisation proven both within Australia and on an international front. The Adelaide Spectres sits under the umbrella of the Spectres Australia Basketball Association and is a chapter to the original Sydney Spectres and aims to establish and build on the same vision and values embraced by all member and supporters of the community.

🏀🌈Join the Adelaide Spectres for our Season Launch and Come & Try night on Wednesday 15 April, 6:30–8:00 pm at Annesley Junior School, 28 Rose Terrace, Wayville.

This is the perfect chance to check out the club, meet the community, and jump on court in a fun, welcoming, low-pressure environment. Whether you’re completely new to basketball, getting back into the game, or already playing and looking for an inclusive club, you’re welcome.

What to expect:
🏀 Skills and drills
🙌 Friendly games and scrimmages
✨ A fun, low-pressure session
🌈 An inclusive LGBTQIA+ and ally community

What to bring:
- Your fabulous self
- A full water bottle
- Running shoes

The Adelaide Spectres is an inclusive basketball club for LGBTQIA+ and ally-identifying people, open to all skill levels and ages 18+.

🚪Entry: Via the main gate on Rose Terrace, the gym is just past the chicken enclosure

What a way to finish the season! 🏀🔥

A huge team effort to take out the Grand Finals with a 38–20 win — couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the summer season.

Keep an eye out 👀 we’ll be announcing our upcoming Come and Try soon as we gear up for the winter season and keep the momentum going!

Join us at Annesley Junior School from this Wednesday 6:30–8:00pm for drills, games, and good vibes.

Training is free, new players are always welcome, and no experience is needed to jump in and have a go. 💜🏳️‍🌈

Huge love to the for hosting the Adelaide Spectres crew and bringing the Pride vibes from the moment the doors opened 💥✨

And WOW 😮‍💨👏 what a game! Big plays, clutch moments, and a crowd that brought the energy all night long. Basketball at its absolute best, played in a stadium full of colour, love, and community 🏀💙

This is what Pride Round is all about: inclusion, visibility, and showing that everyone belongs in our game. Thank you, Adelaide, for making it unforgettable, we’ll be riding this high for a while 🌈🔥

As we welcome the New Year, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone for our community — 2026 marks 25 years of Spectres Pride Basketball 💫

For a quarter of a century, Spectres has been about far more than the game. It’s been about pride, inclusion, belonging, friendship, and creating safe spaces where everyone can show up as their authentic selves and play the sport they love 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Here in Adelaide, we’re honoured to be part of this legacy — building community, sharing the court, and carrying the Spectres spirit forward with pride.
