The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Umpires Council was formed under the British in March 1953, but under the auspices of the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, all those formed from 1952 came together to form a Regional Organisation which took place in San Fernando, Trinidad with the stagingof the first cricket umpires’ convention being held from June 12 – 16, 1962. The Umpires’ Council, was then

re-established and based at San Fernando Technical Institute (NowSan Fernando West Secondary School (Old Tech), and from there they moved to Presentation College Chaguanas, and then to the National Cricket Centre, up to present date. They formed the North Zone and then other zones were formed throughout the country including Tobago, now totalling eight (8). The Council then became affiliated to West Indies Cricket Umpires Association (WICUA) and then to the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB). The Council is now responsible for supplying umpires to service National League Games, Women’s Cricket Competitions and Secondary Schools Cricket Competitions. The eight (8) zones are responsible for supplying umpires to service games in their respective zonal areas.

The North Zone Cricket Umpires Association (NZCUA) proudly congratulates Candace Laborde on her selection to officiate at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England.

Candace's journey began right here in the NZCUA, where she developed her skills, dedication, and passion for cricket officiating. Her appointment to one of the biggest stages in world cricket is a tremendous achievement and a testament to her hard work, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

She continues the proud tradition of NZCUA producing officials capable of performing at the highest levels of the game and serves as an inspiration to aspiring umpires throughout Trinidad and Tobago and the wider cricketing community.
