The Gutu Half Marathon is an annual race - sanctioned by NAAZ - held in Gutu, Masvingo was founded by Dr Simon V Muzenda in 1995 with the aim of promoting athletes in rural areas. The event has since been aptly renamed to the Dr Simon V Muzenda Gutu Half Marathon to celebrate the life of the founder of the event who was equally passionate about sports and the performing arts. istry of Sport, Recreation, Art and Culture, this year's event of the Dr Simon V Muzenda Gutu Half Marathon shall will be hosting a Mzee Bira, as well as traditional dance, poetry, short story and public speaking competitions. Participants may enter for either the 21km, 10km, 5km or 5km wheelchair race.
