STATEMENT BY CHITUNGWIZA JUNIOR FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE (CJFDL)

CJFDL CONDEMNS ALLEGED VIOLENT CONDUCT TOWARDS MATCH OFFICIAL

The Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League (CJFDL) has taken note of the alleged incident involving violent conduct towards a match referee during the match between FNF Young Stars and CSPRO, played at Riverton School in Stoneridge.

The League takes such allegations seriously and is currently awaiting the official match referee's report before instituting the necessary investigations and taking appropriate action in accordance with the League's rules and regulations.

CJFDL strongly condemns all forms of violence and misconduct directed towards referees, players, coaches and other participants in the game.

All affiliated academies, players, coaches, officials and supporters are urged to exercise restraint and uphold the principles of discipline, respect and fair play at all times.

The football pitch must remain a safe environment for players, referees, coaches and the wider community. Violence has no place in football, particularly in junior football development, where the focus should be on nurturing talent, promoting positive values and building responsible young people.

CJFDL remains committed to promoting a culture of Respect, Discipline, Fair Play and Zero Tolerance for Violence.

The Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League (CJFDL) strongly condemns all forms of violence and abuse against referees, players and coaches.

Football is a game of passion, talent and competition, but there is no place for violence on or off the pitch. Let us respect the referee, support our players and appreciate our coaches as they all play an important role in developing the future of football.

CHITUNGWIZA SHINE AT HARARE JUNIOR INTER-LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League (CJFDL) produced an impressive performance at the Harare Junior Inter-League Tournament, finishing runners-up in the Under-15 category and securing third place in the Under-17 competition.

The tournament brought together four junior football leagues — Chitungwiza Junior Football Development League, Gloria League, Harare Province League and Harare Elite League — in a showcase of youth talent and grassroots football development.
In the Under-15 final, Chitungwiza put up a spirited fight but narrowly lost 2-1 to Harare Province, settling for second place.

Despite the disappointment in the final, Chitungwiza had plenty to celebrate, with A. Liponda receiving the prestigious Best Player Award in the Under-15 category. Chitungwiza goalkeeper T. Jackson was also named Under-15 Goalkeeper of the Tournament, highlighting the quality of talent produced by the league.

The Under-17 side also demonstrated character in the third-place play-off against Gloria League. After a goalless draw in regulation time, Chitungwiza held their nerve in the penalty shootout, winning 6-5 to secure third place.

The tournament also rewarded all participating teams, with each team receiving a full playing kit. Chitungwiza's strong showing was further recognised with the presentation of medals to the successful players.

CJFDL also extends its sincere appreciation to LM Auctioneers and Utano for their valuable support during the tournament.

The two partners assisted with refreshments and players’ travel, ensuring that the young footballers were well supported throughout the competition. Their contribution played an important role in enabling the youngsters to focus on performing at their best.
