Borrowdale Brooke Golf Estate Zimbabwe's premium lifestyle and golf estate in the heart of Borrowdale Brooke Borrowdale Brooke, the brainchild of Lonrho Construction, was started in 1996.

The magnificent 18-hole golf course was designed and built by Peter Matkovich of Matkovich and Hayes, in consultation with Nick Price, to United States Golf Association standards. Borrowdale Brooke Golf Club was opened by Nick Price on 27th November 1998. The course has developed beautifully with many big trees and 209 bird species have been recorded on the course and in the gardens on The Estate. The Brooke is the ideal, safe environment to bring up a family in.

We're excited to host the Zimbabwe Ladies' Golf Union - ZLGU Stroke Play Championship this Friday through Sunday (Sept 4โ€“6).

With a packed field of 120 players, member tee-times will be LIMITED, but weโ€™re securing preferential rates at other clubs to keep you playing. Come down over the weekend to enjoy top-tier golf and support our Brooke ladies in action! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ“Œ COURSE IMPROVEMENTS UPDATEโ›ณ๏ธ๐Ÿ“Œ

Weโ€™re excited to share some photos of the latest progress on our Course Improvements Programme.

As youโ€™ll see, weโ€™ve started one of our biggest changes yet: *flattening our fairways*. We know the GUR can be disruptive, but whenever you find yourself on a freshly worked area, remember all those times you hit a great drive only to find your ball sitting on the side of a mogul, making the second shot a nightmare! ๐Ÿ˜…

If that doesnโ€™t help, just think of it as some *anticipated Greenkeeperโ€™s Revenge*. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The work on the *8th and 11th tee boxes* has also gone extremely well, with the new, flat tee boxes ready for play very shortly.

The photos show work on the *7th, 9th and 18th fairways*, with *17th to follow soon*.

We encourage everyone to come out and see the work for yourselves. There may be some temporary disruption, but the improvements will be well worth it!

Back in 2025, some of our Brooke staff and resident coaches packed up those unclaimed items and headed straight to Tafara 1 High School in Harare to share the fundamentals of the game and spark some excitement. (๐น๐‘–๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘ก ๐‘“๐‘’๐‘ค ๐‘๐‘–๐‘๐‘  = ๐‘ ๐‘โ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘™ ๐‘ฃ๐‘–๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘ก)

Fast forward less than a year later, and 23 new golfers from Tafara 1 - including 5 girls - participated in the inaugural President's Cup Junior Champions at Police Golf Club. โ›ณ๏ธ A lot of learnings were had and competing alongside 100 young players gave them incredible tournament exposure.
