Celebration + Gratitude
On 22nd February 2020, I logged my very first Strava run, 6 km in 44 minutes. Nearly six years later, I cover 8 km in that same time. When I look back at everything between those two runs, I see the quiet power of progressive overload woven through lessons learned, the experiences that shaped me, the injuries I had to respect, the life seasons that came and went (because life continues outside the kilometres), the highs and lows, and the consistency and commitment that grew simply from loving movement.
These medals, now matching my age, tell the story of keeping to choose the road. They remind me that although I pay to run on roads that are free, what I really pay for is the privilege of running alongside others who share the same spirit. We all run against the distance, each of us simply being runners.
As I live, move, and breathe, I will honour this gift through movement. I thank God for this journey! For the adrenaline, the courage to move through fear and doubt, and the grace to keep going.
We continue to move. ✨
